GOALS 2014: ACHIEVED! At the end of every year, we set ourselves goals. A goal that we don't spell out, but is an integral part of what we do every day: provide career support and advice to executives around the world in an effective manner. We want to make sure that our clients get what they want. Usually it's supporting them in their career transitions. But that's not always the case. Some want to know whether the grass is really greener. And then there are some who want to know whether they are standing on the right lawn all together. Maybe they should move to a meadow? Or into the desert? Our goals for 2014 were as follows: Goal Completion Status #1: Strengthen our position internationally Achieved! We've increased our international client base from 20% to 34%. More on page 5. #2: Start cooperating with #2: Executive MBA Alumni Clubs Achieved! To name just a few: - lectures at the FT-ranked Koźmiński University in Warsaw with record attendance - workshop for Executive MBA alumni at the Polish American Management Center - lecture, workshop and career consultation at the International Management Institute in Kiev - we've become the International Career Partner for the WU Executive Academy with - campuses in Vienna and Bucharest #3: Strategic alliances with selected #3: Executive Search Firms Achieved! LEVEL 66% of our clients are members of a management board (locally or internationally) or report to one. Almost one fifth are experienced managers with at least 10 years of experience. EFFECT 61% found a satisfying job, 32% decided not to change, usually despite having job offers. As compared to previous years, only 7% (50% less than in 2013) decided to set up their own company. SOURCE OF ACCEPTED JOB OFFERS This data relates to accepted job offers not all job offers. We have excluded the source of accepted job offers by professionals and junior managers. Reason: online job ads generated 10% of accepted job offers for those with up to 10 years of experience versus 0% for the others. CONCLUSIONS & OBSERVATIONS There is no statistically significant correlation between any factors of the job search as effects, source of accepted offers, country of origin, job hunting search area, years of experience, age, etc. It would be false to assume that just because a certain channel generates more accepted job offers, it would also generate more overall offers. As there is no observable correlation, we cannot predict which channel will be more effective for any given manager. Above you see how 'the numbers' have changed over the last 3 years. Simplifying, we could say that 2014 was very similar to 2012, despite the fact that we've operated in more countries and we've solidly doubled our client base. One trend that will be visible in numbers in 2015: more and more managers understand what it means to consciously manage their careers. They contact us 12-24 months prior to their planned move.
