Create New Futures supports proposals that: Pilot new approaches to addressing emerging or existing community issues and needs Evaluate, enhance or expand current initiatives to increase or sustain impact on an organization or the people they support Develop collaborations and partnerships that aim to strengthen or sustain meaningful work Adoption Options: Organizational Evaluation and Development Plan This grant will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of organizational governance and planning, and to initiate positive changes that will strengthen Adoption Options and support community services. Grant Amount: $40,000 Calgary Counselling Centre: Defy Depression Defy Depression is a comprehensive multi-year mental health initiative designed to enhance, enrich and build a strong community by raising awareness around depression, and treating this rapidly growing issue. The initiative is based on four pillars: access, activation, research, and education & training. Grant Amount: $40,000 Calgary Keys to Recovery: Mental Health Support Pilot This grant will be used to pilot a psychiatric support component to enhance the services we offer to our clients. Grant Amount: $51,260 Calgary Reads obo First 2000 Days Network: The First 2000 Days Network Community Evaluation & Learning This grant will be used to support the development of a learning framework that will capture the learnings from multiple neighborhood early childhood development coalitions in Calgary in order to evaluate what has worked, what hasn t, and to leverage existing relationships & programs in order to innovate and enhance the work of the coalitions based on the learnings gathered. Canadian Lawyers Abroad: Dare to Dream Calgary Expansion This grant will support the strategic enhancement/expansion of Dare to Dream, a justice education and mentorship program for First Nation, Métis and Inuit youth, in Calgary and the Tsuu T ina, Siksika, and Stoney Nakoda Nations. Grant Amount: $30,000 Canadian National Institute for the Blind: Transition to Success This grant will help us pilot a model for a Youth Transition Program which will support the postsecondary and employment success of blind and partial sighted youth ages 14-30. Grant Amount: $40,000

Green Calgary: Depave Calgary This grant will be used to develop and implement a program of community based greening of public spaces; depaving areas through the efforts of community champions who are given the tools, resources and capacity to replace pavement with green spaces that support storm water management, community engagement, and increase the vibrancy of local neighbourhoods. Momentum Community Economic Development Society: A Two Generation Approach to Poverty Prevention Momentum will exponentially increase the number of low income children who have RESPs by building the capacity of local agencies and increasing the participation of financial institutions and governments. Grant Amount: $125,000 Springboard Dance Collective: containr Art Park Springboard will develop a containr community engagement strategy to strengthen our community and programming possibilities, building capacity for community partnerships, new audiences, and integrated year round programming and presence. Grant Amount: $65,000 Student Energy: Student Energy Chapters Calgary Pilot Project Student Energy plans to pilot a new model for campus-wide chapters at the University Calgary and Mount Royal University to set a model that is replicable and scalable all over the globe. Grant Amount: $70,000 Volunteer Centre of Calgary o/a Propellus: Member Benefits Enhancement Project This grant will enable non-profit and charitable organizations to access capacity building activities free of charge by implementing a Learning Management System and creating an online portal.

Engage Citizens supports initiatives that: Enhance the ways that volunteers participate in a charity s work Create new opportunities for community problem solving Develop, test or enhance policies that focus on the meaningful participation of marginalized populations Alberta Society for Sustainable Water Mgmt o/a Alberta WaterPortal: Web-based State of the Watershed Project The Alberta WaterPortal aims to develop the next generation of Web-based State of the Watershed (WSOW), by providing improved public interaction through enhanced communication and educational outreach to Albertans. Calgary Outlink Centre: Rainbow In The Clouds Initiative This initiative will create safer shelter spaces & contribute to an increased knowledge on LGBTQ* service delivery in Calgary s shelter system through cross-sectoral collaboration, education, needs assessment & program development. Canadian Tennis Association: The Acadia tennis development program for seniors, the disabled and youth The initiative is to work in collaboration with the Acadia Community Association, the Lord Beaverbrook High School, the Trico Centre and the 7 other surrounding schools to deliver specialized program to seniors, the disabled and youth in encouraging their participation in the active sport of tennis. Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta: STEP-by- STEP Play and Chat Early Intervention (EI) Group Bi-weekly training group offered to very young children with physical and communication difficulties accompanied by a parent and supported by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced therapists. Grant Amount: $44,025 Grant Amount: $25,000 Miistakis Institute: Collision Count: Engagement of citizens in the safe passage of wildlife This grant will be used to help engage community volunteers in Collision Count, a citizen science project where volunteers record road kill observations using a smart phone app to inform and build community knowledge around the safe passage of wildlife across hwy 3 in Alberta. Grant Amount: $20,000 Oldman Watershed Council: Fostering a Stewardship Ethic of Off-Highway Vehicle Users in the Oldman Watershed Headwaters We will develop and implement an education program to engage and empower motorized recreation users from Calgary and area to lower their environmental impact while recreating in the headwaters. Grant Amount: $35,000

Punjabi Community Health Services: Capacity Building for PCHS Calgary PCHS Ontario will extend its services to Calgary by developing a strong volunteer core to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate support services to decrease Family Conflict & Mental Health issues in South Asians (SA). Verb Theatre: Verb's Improv for Alzheimer's (VIA) program This grant will support the development and piloting of the VIA program, which will offer theatre improv workshops to Calgarians living with Alzheimer's Disease and their family caregivers. Grant Amount: $7,000 Yellowstone 2 Yukon obo Crown of the Continent Conservation Initiative: Climate Adaptation in Alberta s Crown of the Continent CCCI will create new opportunities for community based problem solving that addresses the impact of climate change on the natural ecosystems of southern Alberta by partnering with others to implement new, innovative climate adaptation efforts. Calgary Public Library Foundation: Annie Davidson Opera: Performance Series In partnership with Cowtown Opera, live performances celebrate Calgary change agent Annie Davidson, whose grassroots leadership led to Alberta s first public library and over a century of literacy/civic engagement. Grant Amount: $30,000

Explore and Celebrate Our History and Cultures Create opportunities to understand and celebrate the history, diversity, creativity and vitality of Calgary and area Conduct strategic activities to grow and innovate in cultural activities Support diversity learning, dialogue and understanding Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers: Answer Print Online Journal CSIF would like to develop an online platform to continue to publish Answer Print, a quarterly film journal that has represented and disseminated diverse views and voices of the Calgary media arts community for over 20 years. Glenbow Alberta Institute: Made in Calgary: The Book This grant will be used to support the production of an important new illustrated book tracing art making in Calgary from the 1960s to the 2000s. Grant Amount: $100,000 Grant Amount: $22,000 National Music Centre: National Music Centre Online Platform - Phase Two Following the completion of Phase One of the nmc.ca redesign project, NMC is eager to complete Phase Two, which is focused on audience development through content development and expanded features. Southern Alberta Land Trust Society: Cowboy Trail Conservation Plan SALTS plans to do a risk assessment and conservation plan for private lands along Alberta s iconic Highway 22 corridor or Cowboy Trail which is gradually being developed through residential expansion. Grant Amount: $25,000 Wordfest: Festival within a Festival: Focus on Aboriginal Storytelling This grant will assist Wordfest in expanding programming featuring Aboriginal writers, storytellers and artists from several events/year to an established and respected series of events. This will include effort invested into audience development, exploration of partnerships and expanded outreach to targeted communities. Events will appeal to both youth and adults. Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society: Strategic Plan Preparing for the Future In conjunction with Propellus, First Calgary and the Calgary Foundation, this grant will help AARCS prepare a detailed strategic plan to ensure we have clear priorities, direction, goals and an implementation plan for the future to assist our community and the animals we share it with. Grant Amount: $10,000

Strengthen Charities supports initiatives that: Conduct strategic activities that expand an organization s reach, share experiences or sustain impact Evaluate the effectiveness of an organization, programs, or services Invest in tools, technology and specialized equipment that are essential for effective work or for meaningful community Alzheimer Society of Calgary: Stakeholder Data and Communications Initiative This grant will be used to support the reconfiguration of the Alzheimer Society of Calgary s data management processes and structure to facilitate more effective communications with our stakeholders and program users. Grant Amount: $21,230 Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured: Strategic Review Strengthening ARBI to Meet the Community Need Coinciding with the appointment of a new ED (August 2014), we will continue to develop the strategic plan including optimal organizational structure, staff succession, and program development to meet the increasing community need. Calgary Arts Development: New Pathways to Innovation Calgary This grant will be used to secure and initiate the three-year adaptive capacity program New Pathways to Innovation (developed by EmcArts) for not-for-profit organizations in Calgary. Grant Amount: $100,000 CanLearn Society: LD Stakeholders Group- Environmental Scan, Needs Assessment and Mapping Literature review, environmental scan, needs assessment, service/program mapping for the LD Stakeholders. Our subsector will better understand the implications and opportunities within the changing landscape. Training on collective impact. Friends of Fish Creek: Learning Naturally Program Sustainability Plan In order to ensure the long term success of our learning naturally program we need to engage the services of a consultant to develop a robust sustainability plan. Grant Amount: $25,000 Inn From the Cold Society: Journey House Supportive Housing Initiative (Evaluation) This grant will be used to implement a developmental evaluation of a pilot supportive housing initiative that will house nine femaleheaded families with a 24-hour staffing model and wraparound services.

MitoCanada Foundation: Awareness Enhancement Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week A civic level grant to assist in the development of a multi-media awareness campaign targeted for Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week, Sept 2015 in Calgary. Science Alberta Foundation: Path to Sustainability: Wonderville 2.0 E-Commerce & Back End Infrastructure Wonderville 2.0 is MindFuel s initiative to develop the BACK END architecture of the Wonderville 1.0 website to include e-commerce functionalities and data-warehouse functionality. This will enable MindFuel to achieve sustainability by earning revenues, thus reducing dependence on GoA core funding. Grant Amount: $75,000 Theatre Calgary: Rebranding & Website Redevelopment This grant will be used towards the rebranding of the organization, more particularly to develop a new logo and design a new website with online and mobile functionality. United Church of Canada: Loving the Neighbourhood This grant will enable over 20 congregations to strategically understand their community, their existing resources, and build a plan to repurpose their church buildings for the betterment of the community.
