NEWS Featured Alum Lawrence Larry Marion, SJ Class of 1980 Affiliation: St. Joseph Class of 1980 Burnham in Cicero Class of 1976 I am living in Seattle, Washington and Chicago right now and could not be more excited about being back in my hometown even though it is part time. Very fortunate to have my own graphic design / web design business (www.roguewavemedia.com) which is a dream come true and so very rewarding. Fondest memories of St. Joseph was for ONCE listening to Mr. Niezgoda (Baseball coach) and striking out the side after hitting 3 people the game before. Also Brother Peter taught me all about hard work. St. Joes was a great experience and hopefully someday I will get back for a reunion. School News Open House! Twinning Program Results Our Chargers raised $130.54 this week to help our twin school, St. Joseph located in Nazareth, Ethiopia. The young men and women of St. Joseph High School have raised a total of $1,144.88 to date! Your continued support has shows our students the importance and beauty of helping others! Thank you! Soccer News SJHS Soccer Players of the Week in Chicago Soccer Magazine (CSM) My name is Jimmy Johnson, and I am a junior at St. Joseph High School. I play for the varsity team at St. Joes, as well as Chicago Magic Soccer Club. They are both great teams, and I love playing for them. We have had a good year so far, and are nearing the playoffs. I know we will do great for the remainder of the season. I am looking forward to it, and the upcoming indoor season. - Jimmy Johnson Going into this school year I really didn t know if I was going to play soccer or not. I kept on debating whether or not I should play, and I was highly considering just not playing. Well after the second day of tryouts I kept on thinking how much fun I had on the team and how the people on the team were like my brothers. They welcomed me back just like family, and after just one day of practice I knew I made the right choice. I worked hard during all the off season practices, and I was moved from a once goalie, to a starting defender by the first game. We have had some tough games this season, but through it all we have remained brothers, and we will fight until the final whistle of the season blows. - Pat Brown This year we have a great team that is full of talent. St. Joseph Soccer team is a unique program because it doesn t matter where we come from or where we played before because we all come together as a family. We have our ups and downs but at the end of the day, we just enjoy playing soccer together. - Fabian Robles GO CHARGERS! Many thanks to those who supported the St. Joseph H.S. Band Booster s Trash for Treasure Garage Sale last Saturday. The sale raised $534.64! The band will be using that money to replace some drum heads and purchase new music. Thank You!
