Also attached to this newsletter is a table summarising which services are remaining operational and in what capacity across this period. Please note that the Christmas closedown period is from Monday 24 December 2018 to Sunday 6 January 2019. The HSU advises members to read the attached documentation. In line with direction from the Ministry of Health (IB2016_050 Christmas Closedown 2016-2018) I can advise the minimum closedown period within the LHD will be from Monday 24 December 2018 to Sunday 6 January 2019 Generally all staff will be required to take leave during this time with only minimal, essential staff rostered on duty. In the event that a staff member does not have enough accrued leave nor wishes to take leave due to individual circumstances, the LHD will endeavour to move that person to another unit if their skills are transferable and the move can be accommodated. Attached for your information are individual LHD Service staffing and activity arrangements over the Christmas 2018 - New Year 2019 period. It should be noted that the schedules may be subject to change due to service requirements and staff will be consulted if this is the case. The LHD advises that local procedure (GL15_01 Leave during Period of Planned Reduced Activity HENLHD) deals with the management of this issue.
