Purple and White Scholarship for non-kansas residents Qualifications: ACT score: 24+ and GPA: 3.5 or above Amount: $8,000 Application: Complete the K-State scholarship application. Honors Scholarship for non-kansas residents Qualifications: ACT score: 24 or higher and GPA: 3.5 or above Amount: $8,000 Application: Complete the K-State scholarship application. Denison Award for non-kansas residents Qualifications: ACT score: 20-23 and GPA: 3.5 or above Amount: $5,000 Application: Complete the K-State scholarship application. Edgerly-Franklin Urban Leadership Scholarship and Developing Scholars Program Qualifications: GPA: 3.5 or above, strong record of community service, and preference will be given to students of color and first-generation college students. Amount: $3,000 and also are paid to do 10 hours of research per week Application: Apply for acceptance to the Developing Scholars Program. Complete the K-State scholarship application and check back in September to complete the online combined Edgerley-Franklin Urban Leadership and Developing Scholars application. Nancy Landon Kassebaum Scholarship Qualifications: ACT score: 26 or above, demonstrate commitment to public service, have a strong desire to continue work in the public service realm, and participate in an on-campus interview and recognition event on Monday, January 24, 2011. Amount: $5,000 (nonrenewable) Application: Complete the K-State scholarship application and check back in September to complete the online Kassebaum supplemental application. Applications due by December 12, 2011.

Civic Leadership Scholarship Qualifications: Have an exemplary record of community service and participate in an oncampus interview and recognition event on Monday, January 20, 2012. Amount: 1 st place- $4,000, 2 nd place- $2,500, and 3 rd place- $2,000 Application: Complete the K-State scholarship application and check back in September to complete the online K-State Civic Leadership Scholarship supplemental application. Applications due by December 12, 2011. College and Departmental In February the General Scholarship Committee forwards all names to colleges and departments for additional scholarship consideration. If you did not meet the November 1 scholarship deadline, be sure to apply before February 1 to make this list.

Missouri State Advantage Scholarship Qualifications: Awarded to entering freshmen who completed six or more credit hours through the Missouri State University dual credit program with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.00 or higher Amount: $1,000 Application: Apply for admission by June 1 for the fall semester. Hutchens/SGA Centennial Leaders Scholarship Qualifications: Rank in the upper 1/2 of class or have a 3.0 GPA and have ACT score of 20 Amount: $1,250 per year or $2,500 for students with documented financial need Application: Complete the Missouri State Centennial Leaders Scholarship Application and apply for admission by December 1. Complete FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. Missouri State Promise Scholarship Qualifications: Awarded to Missouri residents who are entering freshmen and who have a total household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level as determined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Amount: Equal to the cost of full-time tuition and fees and a standard book allowance of $900 per year Application: Apply for admission by June 1 (for students entering in summer or fall) or by October 1 (for students entering in the spring). Submit the FAFSA by June 30 if entering in summer or fall or by October 31 if entering in the spring. No special application is required.

Other MU scholarships require the students to apply using the MU Annual Scholarship Application. Brooks Scholarship Qualifications: Member of an ethnic group that is under-represented in Missouri higher education. ACT score of 25 or higher. Amount: $7,500 per year Renewal: 8 regular semesters or until bachelor s is reached Application: Apply for admission to MU and submit official transcripts and test scores no later than January 1 st. Qualified applicants will then be asked to submit an essay which is due January 14 th. Applicants will be chosen for an interview in February to select recipients. Transition Grant Qualifications: Based on high school class rank and ACT or SAT scores. Member of an ethnic group that is under-represented in Missouri higher education. Completion of Summer Transition Program required. Amount: $2,500 per year Renewal: 8 regular semesters or until bachelor s is reached Application: No application required. Students are automatically considered once admitted to MU. Mizzou Alumni Scholars Program Qualifications: Top 20% of your high school graduation class OR achieve a minimum of 26 on the ACT. Amount: $500-$5,000 Renewal: Varies with awards received and will be indicated in a letter that each scholar will receive. Northwest Missouri State Financial Aid http://www.nwmissouri.edu/finaid/freshman.htm Admission-based scholarships have admission application deadline of May 1 to guarantee scholarship awards. Automatic Freshman Scholarships No separate scholarship application is required. Scholarship level is determined by the Admissions Index (combined percentile of class rank and ACT/SAT score provided on high school transcript with Admission Application). Such scholarships include Bright Flight, the Missouri Teacher Education Scholarship and National Guard/ROTC Scholarship among others. Private Scholarships These scholarships are funded by our Northwest Foundation or private donors. They are not specific to any major, but may be limited by academic, geographic, or grade level criteria. Major-specific Scholarships These scholarships are funded by contributions to our Northwest Foundation or by private donors and are specified to designated majors. Directly Awarded Freshman Scholarships The following scholarships are made available by funds from the Northwest Foundation and are awarded based upon a variety of criteria as designated by the donors. No separate application is required. However, students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered.
