Teresa recently completed her bachelors of science degree in Accounting at Linfield College and is continuing her education with a focus on Forensic Accounting at New England College. President s Message Happy New Year CFDD Salem/Albany Chapter Members!! Our December holiday meeting was really festive! The Board extends our appreciation to Kathy Linscott and Kendall Sun from NACM Oregon for their educational update on programs and services available to our membership. We had another successful holiday auction and the opportunity to network with our peers. These chapter meetings are truly invaluable for the benefits you receive through your membership in CFDD. The next few months will be very busy. At our February 10 chapter meeting, we ll have an informative program on the importance of strategic communication as it relates to credit and finance professionals. I hope you have this meeting date marked on your calendar and plan to attend. CFDD National Scholarships are due on March 16, 2015. I highly encourage everyone to take the time to complete and submit your application for a CFDD National scholarship. You are welcome to contact me if you need assistance completing the appropriate scholarship application. These funds often tip the scale and make it possible for you to budget and participate in many educational opportunities offered locally and nationally throughout the year. This year s CFDD National Conference will be held in conjunction with the NACM Western Region Conference from October 14 16, 2015, in Portland. This is the perfect opportunity to apply for a CFDD National scholarship you could earn a scholarship that will pay the registration fee to a local conference! Travel and lodging expenses will be minimal since the conference will be held just a few miles up the I-5 corridor. So get busy on those scholarship applications! In April, we will have our annual raffle basket drawing. This year s basket has an International Theme items are included from all around the world! We welcome and encourage your donations. Tickets will be available for sale at our February and April chapter meetings. in this endeavor to facilitate additional representation from the CFDD Salem/Albany Chapter to attend Credit Congress, where Charlene Gothard, CBF, CFDD Portland Chapter Member, will be installed as our new CFDD National Chairman. CFDD National Scholarship Deadline I would like to remind everyone that the Scholarship application deadline for CFDD National is coming up on March 16. If you would like to complete one of the applications you can do so through the CFDD site on the NACM website. Applications must be received by the 16 of March to be eligible for consideration for this year. Scholarships are awarded for many events throughout the year and for Credit Congress in 2016. Scholarship dollars are available for certification fees, educational classes, seminars, and conferences. In October, the CFDD National Conference and NACM Western Regional Conference will be held in Portland. I highly encourage you to apply for a scholarship to attend this event. On the website there are three applications, the general, and two new ones that were created for newer members three years or less and for members without company support. Please select the correct application that best suits you.
