NCSBN Mission and NEC Charge NCSBN Mission NCSBN provides education, service, and research through collaborative leadership to promote evidence-based regulatory excellence for patient safety and public protection. NEC Charge Advise the Board of Directors on matters related to the NCLEX process, including examination item development, security, administration and quality assurance to ensure consistency with the Member Boards need for examinations. Recommend test plans to the Delegate Assembly. Develop NCLEX prototype items that use technology enhanced item types focused on measuring clinical decision making/judgement.

FY18 NEC Accomplishments Published the 2017 RN Practice Analysis and 2017 RN Nursing Knowledge Survey Reports Developed and approved the 2019 NCLEX-RN Standard Setting Panel of Judges Approved the 2019 NCLEX-RN Test Plan for recommendation to the Delegate Assembly Engaged in strategic discussions to gain new perspectives for the future direction of NCLEX

Future Activities Continue to monitor all administrative, test development and psychometric aspects of the NCLEX program. Evaluate all aspects of the NCLEX program and initiate additional quality assurance processes as needed. Evaluate NCLEX informational initiatives, such as the NCLEX conferences, NCLEX Regional Workshops and other presentations. Communicate updates regarding the Next Generation NCLEX project including research outcomes, as well as implications for students, educators, regulators and health care organizations.
