Campers need to stay hydrated and remember sunscreen. o Picture Day is Wednesday, August 10. Remember marching shoes, equipment, and photo order forms. o Kennywood Day is Friday, August, 19. Free all-day ride pass in exchange for marching in the evening parade. Permission forms to leave the park with parents are available on both the old and new websites and must be turned in prior to bus departure from PRHS on Friday morning. Immediately following the parade, parents driving their kids home will meet their student(s) at the gate/busses and should know their bus number. Parade starts around 7:00 pm. o Band Camp 2017 is on the schedule now. Start date is August 7, 2017. Band Camp is MANDATORY for all band members. Students cannot miss these nine days of camp, so PLAN ACCORDINGLY for next year! o The Spring trip to Universal Studios in Florida has been approved by the school board for April 26-30. Trip is optional and not mandatory. Estimate $1200-$1300 per student. Multiple fundraisers exist for students to earn credit towards the cost of some or all of their cost. Fly to Florida after school on Wednesday and return Sunday evening. Band members will miss two days of school as per school board approval. Veteran chaperones will be considered for this trip. Parents should consider jumping in to volunteer throughout the season to gain experience. o Cleveland Game against St. Ed s is scheduled for Saturday, August 27. Call time is 8:30. Five tour buses will transport the band and cheerleaders. Game is on ESPN at 12:00 noon if parents are unable to travel. Band will present pre-game or half-time show and support the football team. o All scheduled events are listed on the website calendar(s). Click on a specific event for call times and details. o Finally, jump in and help the boosters out. It s fun!
Pine-Richland Band Boosters Status PRBB is now officially 501(C)-3 o Part of Pine-Richland United Booster Organization o We hold member-at-large seat on their board o Complies with district policy 915 o Some changes to accounting and approval processes, small games of chance o All fundraising needs to be submitted to district o Largest impact: How we address trip funding Communications New PR Band Website New Database utilizing Charms Office Assistant for Contacts and Correspondence New PRBB Bulletin Board in Band Room Welcome to Charms The band boosters have purchased a subscription to Charms Office Assistant. This system is being used for ALL email communication. Each student and their parents will maintain and update their own profile. System has many abilities that boosters and staff will slowly begin to utilize during the next few years. New Band Website A big thank you to Lisa Gaffey and Jill Gruber New website is accessible via link on old band website or directly by opening the new URL. The old website will be replaced by the new site altogether in the coming days. https://pinerichlandband.wordpress.com/ Treasurer s Report Dan Kerr, PRBB Treasurer 2016-2017 o The boosters appear to be on solid financial footing. o Fiscal Year 2015-2016 closed on 6/30/16 with a cash balance of $54,792. Finished work for the year on 7/31/16. The annual audit began in August. o As of 8/7/16 the current cash balance is $60,632, which includes the Dance Team cash balance of $5,839. o Total operating & fundraising income from 2015-2016 was $169,661 and the expenses were $159,663, resulting in a net operating income of $9,998. o It is typical for a non-florida band trip year to have a surplus; Loss in 2014-2015 was $12,106 (trip to Disney World). o Band Registration, including Pirates Ticket Sales for 8/22/16 game, is complete. Received net $26,019 to date but paid out $9,690 for game tickets. Expect to receive a few more payments in August. 2

Pirates Game National Anthem performance Monday, Aug 22 versus the Astros. Game Time is 7:05 pm. National Anthem will be played at approximately 6:50-7:00pm. Students will need money if they want to purchase food, drinks, or souvenirs. Family tickets distributed after the booster meeting. Student/chaperone tickets handed out at the game. (Tickets are already paid for.) Band seated in Section 309. Nearly 600 tickets sold. If you still need a group of tickets, contact Mark Niskach of the Pirates, 412-325-4493. Spring Band Trip April 26-30, 2017 o The school board has approved the Florida/Universal trip. o ALL chaperones must have independent volunteer clearances. o Chaperones are selected based on experience. Please chaperone at least two events during the season to be considered for the trip. o Any fundraising done by students last year no longer carries over, individual student accounts no longer exist. o PRBB general fund intends to make contribution to partially offset cost. This amount is to be determined closer to the trip and dependent on success of fundraising efforts. Football Tickets Main Rules o Board Members and Committee Chairs purchase first. o Purchase order will follow sign-up sheets by class, seniors to freshmen. o People arriving after meeting begins will go last, after all of those on all sign-up sheets. o Seat tickets are sold as a set for all 4 home games. o Maximum 4 seats per family. o Athletic Department is NOT selling parking passes this season. Kennywood Tickets Pine-Richland Kennywood Day is Aug. 19, 2016! Discounted tickets available for purchase after meeting. Ticket sales support the band. Discounted tickets are being sold throughout the summer at the Pine-Richland Youth Center, Pine Community Center, and NexTier Banks branches in Gibsonia, Wexford, Cranberry, and T- Bones (checks only please). Ticket sales support the band.
