The voice of the Startup: SkyKrafts Aerospace wherein each and every drone in the sky is accounted for; this development has generated tremendous interest not just in India but also globally, he calls it Internet of flying things Srinivasulu Reddy is the founder and CEO of SkyKrafts Aerospace. The bespectacled Mr. Reddy who always has a warm smile ready to welcome anyone into their startup is an alumnus of BVB College of Engineering and Technology and also a second generation entrepreneur. Despite his hectic schedule, Mr. Reddy likes to keep himself fit and close to nature, by cycling, playing golf or going for a trail, it was during a trek with his wife Mrs. Karthika to the Everest Base Camp, that Mrs. Karthika came up with the idea of making a camera that takes beautiful pictures, can be quickly summoned and small in size, for Mr. Reddy who was exploring MEMS sensors at that time, it was the Aha Moment and the beginning of an adventure to designing and building smart drones. The seed of SkyKrafts was planted somewhere in 2012 which was nurtured with a lot of patience and watered with dedication, the various experiments, and technology explorations were part of the learning curve for Mr. Reddy. It was in the month of October 2015 that SkyKrafts was formally registered as SkyKrafts Aerospace Pvt Ltd, and in the subsequent year it was incubated at KLE-CTiE. The journey so far for the Drone-Man has been fascinating as well as challenging. The agricultural drones with inputs from UAS, Dharwad are designed to help India s large farmer community. Apart from Agriculture, their drones also find applications in survey, emergency search and rescue. Mr. Reddy s vision is to design and develop a Drone Infrastructure With the high octane action of heading a startup also come the challenges related to it. Mr. Reddy has experienced during recruitment it is easier to find skill than finding the will, which is the heart to walk that extra mile to realize Mr. Reddy s vision. Unlike other startups, SkyKrafts provides many opportunities for an employee to become a part of the team and also lets them try out many roles in the company to identify their hearts calling. The other challenge that he faces is that of funding. As their Product is on the verge of getting production ready, there has to be a constant flow of funds to keep the show going on. India s largest spraying drone is manufactured by SkyKrafts Aerospace Pvt Ltd Mr. Reddy states that being part of the vibrant environment of KLE-CTIE played a key role in getting them visibility, which helped them in overcome obstacles that they face and has also helped them gain access to a large talent pool from within and outside the KLE Tech University, and being physically incubated at KLE-CTIE he is confident of getting funded too. He is also of the opinion that if as an incubator KLE-CTIE helps match startups with investors it would take the burden of choosing the right investor for their startup off their back and provided them a smooth transition to the next level.
