Course description The 2016 Swanman Perinatal Conference will present two days of lectures and discussions on current perinatal topics. This conference is the 39th annual meeting, held in honor of the first nursing director at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Miss Alice Swanman. This conference features nationally recognized speakers, known for both their expertise in clinical management and their contributions to perinatal knowledge. Target audience Staff nurses, clinical specialists, lactation consultants, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, nurse managers, educators, case managers and anyone else involved in the care of mothers and their newborns. Learning objectives Promote evidence-based practice in the care of the perinatal/ neonatal population. Discuss nursing management strategies to maximize maternal and neonatal outcomes and quality of patient care. Discuss emerging issues in perinatal and neonatal care.
