Ohio global Institute 2010 The Global Institute is a collaboration involving the Office of International Affairs, Area Studies Centers, and the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University, the Ohio Department of Education, the Gerald H. Read Center at Kent State University, Ohio University, and the Ohio Geographic Alliance. A pervasive lack of knowledge about foreign cultures and foreign languages threatens U.S. security, as well as its ability to compete in the global marketplace and produce an informed citizenry. The U.S. education system, from elementary and secondary school to higher education needs the capacity to provide international training.
