As the Canada-China trade relation further develops, this symposium will play an even more important role in the exchange and cooperation between two countries in the fields of traditional energy, new energy, environmental protection and information technology. Distinguished guests who attended the previous forums include former Alberta Premer: Jim Prentice, former Ministers of Energy of Alberta: Ken Hughes and Diana McQueen, former MLA Jason Luan, President of University of Calgary Elizabeth Cannon, Vice President of University of Calgary Ruwanpura Janaka, Chinese Consul-General in Calgary Yongfeng Liu and Xinping Wang, executives from the Chinese top three PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, and senior executive from major energy companies in Calgary. In recent years, Chinese companies in other industries such as tourism, finance, mining, information technology, agriculture, medicine, education, etc., have also begun to invest in Calgary, and use it as a platform to connect to North America. Calgary is one of Canada s major hubs for air, rail and highway transportations, with advanced development and logistics. Canada's second largest airline, WestJet Airlines, has its headquarter located in Calgary. Calgary International Airport is Canada's fourth largest, with direct routes to 140 cities around the world.
