FROM THE PASTOR S DESK Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Francis de Sales Parish, At Christmastime, we focus our energy and attention on the family. We spend a lot of time looking for the right gift for each family member. We look forward to having the whole family gathered around the table for Christmas dinner. We spend hours on the phone reconnecting with family members who are far from home. Today we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family. It is a day in which we honor the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, who model for us the virtues of family life patience, understanding, compassion, obedience, perseverance, love, and faithfulness. As we begin a New Year, let s put those virtues into practice at home. This feast reminds us that as families, we are not called to be perfect, but to be holy, learning to put others needs before our own, learning the ways of love and mutual respect, learning to be encouraging, supporting and helpful toward one another. May we allow the gift of love to grow in our families throughout the New Year! May the Holy Family be our model and guide in 2016! God s Blessings, Fr. Que Dios los bendiga, Padre Jim Schuerman SOLEMNITY OF MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD Mass will be held at the following times: Thursday, Dec. 31: 4:30 p.m. 7:00 p.m. (Spanish Mass) Friday, Jan. 1 9:00 a.m.

THANK YOU Dear Human Concerns Committee of SFDS, WOW! Thank you so much for your generous donation to the Lake Geneva Food Pantry. With your help we were able to help 247 families in our community to put food on their table in November. That number is made up of 455 adults and 229 children, real faces, real people right here by us who need your help in feeding their families. Thank you so much for your partnership in making this happen! We appreciate your generosity. Merry Christmas to all of you. Sincerely, Staff of Lake Geneva Food Pantry THANK YOU FROM BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG Thank you, SFDS Community, for generously supporting The Pregnancy Helpline of Walworth Co.'s Annual Baby Bottle Boomerang Campaign. Together we collected $705.05. Your generosity provides valuable education and more importantly, support to women when they need it most. We cannot do what we do without you. Thank you. Per St. John Paul II, The Gospel of Life, A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise up to God, the Creator, and Lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer. Please continue to keep our mission to support life in your prayers. We will keep you in ours. Best wishes for a blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
