Mission & Impact Statements Mission The Austin Peay State University Foundation supports the mission of Austin Peay University, which is a comprehensive university committed to raising the educational attainment of the citizenry, developing programs and services that address regional needs, and providing collaborative opportunities that connect university expertise with private and public resources. These endeavors contribute to the intellectual, economic, social, physical, and cultural development of the region. Background The Austin Peay State University Foundation was established in 1975 to better fulfill the responsibility of providing funds for worthy purposes at APSU that were not sufficiently funded through other sources. The Foundation receives and administers funds for the support of scientific, literary and/or educational scholarshipss, research and other similar activities including public and community services designed to meet the needs of the citizens of the service area of the University. Impact Philanthropic gifts are needed to satisfy increased demands that have been placed on higher education in recent years. The Austin Peay State University Foundation has the responsibility of searching for and securing private funds which are vital to the University. Private financial support helps Austin Peay fulfill its mission and realize its full potential. The Foundation welcomes your gifts, which are not only investments in quality education, but in quality of life. Needs We have a huge need for scholarships and many other areas within the University. The majority of our students are first generation college students. Programs Programs Endowment Program Description Provides donors with the opportunity to establish an endowed scholarship in honor or memory of someone. The endowment account is established within the APSU Foundation and interest gained is dispersed to an APSU Scholarship recipient.
