I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for having the confidence in me to perform the duties and meet the responsibilities as the President of the Garden State Chapter of the American Fence Association. A few of my goals this term are to expose our members to new methods of increasing their sales and profits. I would also like to utilize some AFA resources and training programs to increase our knowledge of the industry. I know that there are great people in this chapter who have given their time and resources to make us what we are today. I personally thank you for your efforts to make the fence industry better and more promising for the future. I will be soliciting help from our members for committees and special projects and I welcome any suggestions or ideas you may have. Your input is what will make our Chapter a strong and active one. I look forward to working with each of you and getting to know some of you better. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Troy Burke Page 1

Spotlight On SCIW Fence Products Inc. HISTORY South Camden Iron Works, now doing business as SCIW Fence Products, Inc., has been owned and operated by the Kowal family for four generations. The company was established in 1923 in Camden, NJ by Antoni Kowal who had emigrated from Poland in 1910. After starting as a blacksmith shop, the business expanded over the next 20 years into the manufacture and installation of railings, fire escapes, basement doors and eventually fencing. In 1945 a second generation joined the business and four years later the company installed its first chainlink fence. By 1959, the company had grown to the point that a decision was made to discontinue installations and focus on wholesale distribution. The 70 s saw a transition to a third generation and expansion to a second location in Hightstown, NJ to better serve customers in central and northern New Jersey. This location recently moved to a larger and more modern facility in Hamilton, NJ near Trenton. SCIW Fence Products had also outgrown its original location, so in 2003 we moved to a brand new 14 acre state of the art facility in Mickleton, NJ. A fourth generation has overseen this phase of the company s expansion and also our re-entry into manufacturing with the introduction of our own line of PVC fencing, Hometown Vinyl, in 2006. PRODUCTS & SERVICES SCIW Fence Products specializes in wholesaling and manufacturing quality fencing products combined with excellent customer service. We partner with industry leaders such as Wheatland Tube, Allied Tube, Tymetal Corp, Jerith, D&D Tech, Ameristar, iron World, and others to supply our customers with the highest quality products in the marketplace. We have taken the same approach with our Hometown Vinyl PVC fencing. Quality extrusions from Royal Outdoor Products and VEKA combined with accessories from LMT Corp result in a high quality PVC fence product with many styles and colors available. This year has also seen the introduction of Woodgrain PVC Privacy fence and the addition of New England Arbors to our product line. In the company profile section of our website (www.sciw. com), there is a picture of an ornamental fence job that was built and installed in 1947. The picture was taken recently and the fence still stands in perfect condition. We take great pride in maintaining this tradition of excellence. STAFF SCIW Fence Products currently has an office staff of 10 full-time employees with an additional 30 full-time employees in the warehouse and manufacturing operation. A few part-time workers are added during the spring and summer months. Besides the owners, about a third of our employees have been with the company for 10 or more years and several have put in 25+ years. AFA INVOLVMENT Our company has been a member of the AFA for 36 years and attends the Fencetech show every year. We have exhibited at every Garden State Chapter show in Atlantic City and have volunteered manpower and door prizes to help make the show the success that it is. We fully support both the national and local fence organizations because we feel a professional approach is an important part of strengthening the fence industry. PLANS Our growth in the PVC fencing market has enabled us to build a brand new 10,000 square foot fabrication building at our main location in Mickleton, NJ. This project should be completed by Fall 2008. Page 3
