Member Survey Results 2017 Survey What other services or products should NSSA offer to improve the value you receive? Communication Industry and public Higher standards Training seminars NSSA to educate consumer on what NSSA means compliant, certified Licencing Installation audits Technical Key Messages Manufacturing and installation manuals What are the NSSA doing? Magazine, press releases, creating consumer literature, E-news, forums, training development, advocacy Working with Standards Australia to make standards active again Developing training and delivering in 2018 Licencing is a longer term objective but work has already begun Installation audits part of accreditation plan Key messages being developed Manuals will take time but will be a focus of technical committee Members

Member Survey Results 2017 Survey Main Challenges Ensuring others comply to standards Nationally consistent licencing Competing with low cost competitors Creating level playing field Complying with standards Developing staffs skills Attracting people to work in industry Strategic plan addresses all of these areas Members

Member Survey Results 2017 Survey Why Not? No Feedback/Information Early development phase and the real benefit of membership will come in time No understanding yet what the NSSA means for certified security Door and Screen fabricators Still much to do Public need to know what NSSA is Too expensive Meetings too far away What is NSSA doing? We are a Member centric Association E-news, Magazine, Industry Alerts, Key Messages, Website, Emails. Building as membership grows, committees in place to drive development Understanding builds with compliance, selection guides, labels, training and members need to drive understanding We are at the beginning Members need to drive message to public, NSSA supply the tools to help You get out of an association what you put in, make an effort to attend events Delivering Value to the Members Members

Member Survey Results 2017 Survey Comments from members The NSSA is in an early development phase and the real benefit of membership will come with the implementation of licensing, recognised training programs, improvement of industry standards, inclusion of Security Screens in the NCC, etc... There is no understanding in the marketplace yet for what the NSSA means for certified security Door and Screen fabricators... Not sure what value I get for it. I like the idea of rules and regulations to install by but you are a bit like a toothless tiger. I am not sure what I get from being a member and the effect on the industry as a whole, I think some sort of public awareness campaign may work as the public need to know that there is a NSSA. The NSSA is an excellent vehicle to do the above, but are these items being implemented & actioned? I would really like to see the NSSA do more in the way of educating the consumer about what the NSSA means for them in the way of who they're purchasing from. I think the NSSA needs to concentrate on getting real traction on the items listed above before branching out into other areas. Lobbying for national licencing of security fabricators and installers should be a very high priority. Members
