2 JACKY TRAN Gifts From the Earth: 1) This event will be held on Saturday the 28 th of January. 2) It is a charity event that funds foundation scholarship for students at South, emergency funds, hospitality and Culinary Arts. 3) For those who want to volunteer, they should email Liz. Jacky will send the email address to all the officers. Senate Meeting 1. The meeting will be held on Tuesday the 31 st at 2 PM. 2. The president (Oertli) of South Seattle College will be attending this meeting. 3. Officers to send questions and agendas early for the president to view and prepare for them. Advocacy Day 1. The event will be on Thursday the 26 th of January 2017 in Olympia. 2. Nickey Mitchell sent an email stating that the meeting with his legislator will be at 11:45am. This will be too early for the team to meet with the legislator. 3. All USA officers should be prepared with good questions to ask the legislators. 4. Schedule: 10:00am- meeting at student leadership 10:30am- Leave for Olympia. 11:30am- Estimated time of arrival. 30minutes lunch break. 12:00pm- Tour of the Capital. 1-1:30pm- Meeting with the legislator (Eileen Cody). 2:00pm- Head back to the college. 5. All are advised to dress up for the occasion. 6. Jacky and Christina might get a ride from Nickey Mitchell who is also heading to the WACTSA meeting. CHRISTINA CALIMLIM Timesheet reminder 1. From the 25 th of January all USA officers are required to sign in during their work hours and sign out when they are done. 2
3 2. They are also required to state what they did during the time they were working. ZARI AKKULY Motion to demand that the school administration makes it MANDATORY to send out list of textbooks and materials that students need for each class at least 10 days before the quarter begins. 1. This motion was forwarded to a later date after the team meets with other parties that make this decision. 2. A date will be communicated at a later date after making an appointment to meet with the Vice President (Peter Lortz), the book store Manager, two teachers(full and part time) 3. The reason for this motion is to improve on announcing and informing students on the books and utilities they need for their classes. 4. (d) Puentes. Decorating the office. 1) The officers all thinking of remodeling the office and giving it a new look.
