The Award is open to seniors who are members of South Carroll Stagelighters Club and South Carroll International Thespian Society and meet the eligibility requirements below. The completed application is due by: Eligibility Criteria April 29, 2016 (11:59:59 P.M.) 1. The student must have a minimum cumulative weighted 3.0 GPA* as of the end of the 3rd quarter of their senior year. 2. The student must be a member in good standing of the South Carroll Stagelighters Club and/or South Carroll International Thespian Society (ITS). This includes attendance of meetings and participation in events. 3. You must have applied to at least one college or other institution of higher learning, by the time you submit this application. You do NOT have to intend on majoring in theater or drama to be eligible. Your entry must be completed legibly and follow the format detailed in the application. Recipient(s) will be announced at the Senior Awards Ceremony. Directions I. South Carroll Stagelighters Productions Please use the attached sheet to provide information on all of the SCHS Stagelighters or SCHS ITS productions in which you have participated during your years at South Carroll. Your information must follow the format in the example below. Production: Any Drama Club or ITS production. (Excludes skits that may have been performed for school.) Job: List each job performed for a production on a separate line. Include all jobs you performed to support the show, such as publicity, make-up, hair, etc. --If you appeared on stage during the performance you were an actor. Do not list individual parts or that you were a dancer separately. II. South Carroll Stagelighters Club Support Please use the attached sheet to provide information on the activities you have done to support SCHS Stagelighters Club or SCHS ITS productions. Your information must follow the format in the example below. Activity: Any event you participated in that was in support of Stagelighters Club or ITS. This includes active participation in fundraisers (for Stagelighters/ITS or sponsored by Stagelighters Club/ITS), school skits, or offices held for the clubs. III. Additional Extra-Curricular/Outside of school Activities Please use the attached sheet to provide information on the activities you have participated in outside of Stagelighters or South Carroll High.
IV. Essay Please answer one of the following statements/questions below for your essay. Your essay must be typed, double-spaced, 12-font and should be between 250 and 500 words. Attach your completed essay to the back of your completed application. Define how Stagelighters and/or ITS has impacted your goals and/or future career. How has Stagelighters and/or ITS attributed to you as a person? How has Stagelighters and/or ITS contributed to your High School experience? V. Character References Applicants need to obtain two character references from any adult outside the Fine Arts Department who is not your parent or guardian, but knows you well enough to provide a reference. Attached to this application are two Character Reference Sheets which should be completed by the adults you have chosen. Completed forms should be returned in a sealed envelope with your application.
