R. H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund Boyd Grant Mission Statement The R. H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund serves as a living memorial to not only the late Dr. R. H. Boyd, founder of the National Baptist Publishing Board/ R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation, but to the entire Boyd family and four generations of leadership in the publishing industry for more than one hundred years. This family includes both men and women who have valiantly striven to advance the cause of Christ through the printing and dissemination of millions of Christian, historical, music, and family publications and periodicals, which have been distributed throughout America and in various parts of the world. The Fund serves as a vehicle through which The R.H. Boyd Company puts resources back into the community in a positive and helpful way and encourages churches, organizations, and worthy students to attain goals and standards for the betterment of the total community. The R. H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund reserves the right at any time, with or without notice, to modify, amend, and change the policies and rules of the R. H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund. Said modification, change, or amendment may operate retrospectively or prospectively as determined by R. H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund. Worthiness of grant will be considered by the Endowment Commitee and will be granted for projects in keeping in the overall mission statement of the endowment. 2
Boyd Grant Guidelines 1. The Fund is not obligated to fund an application or to grant the entire amount requested. The Fund reserves the right to determine the amount of each grant. No grants are made to capital developments, such as building funds, etc., or for the elimination of accumulative deficits. 2. Grants are not to exceed $20,000, and loans will not be considered. Grants will not be awarded for the following reasons: (a) No grants will be made in support of another organization s endow ment fund. (b) No grant will be awarded more than five (5) times to any one organization. (c) No grant will be awarded for projects involving building construction or improvements. 3. In order to carry out the purpose and interest of the Founder of this fund, the monies awarded to organizations and individuals will be distributed over the entire nation according to the applications received. 4. Applicant must be prepared for an oral interview by telephone or in person by the coordinator, board member, or a designee from the committee. 5. Late, incomplete, or unsigned applications will be declared ineligible. 6. Please type and double-space all responses. 7. Application must be received by January 15. 8. Worthiness of grant will be considered by Endowment Commitee and will be granted for projects in keeping with the overall mission statement of the endowment. The R. H. Boyd Family (Boyd Grant) Endowment Fund requires that its funds be used only by non-profit 501-C3 organizations to which donations are allowable as a charitable contribution.
