Fraternal Luncheon GOODWILL is the monarch of this house. Men, unacquainted, enter, shake hands, exchange greetings, and depart friends. Cordiality exists among all who abide within. During the luncheon, the VACAPAF Hall of Fame Award will be presented to a brother who is a Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha and has made significant contributions to the development and growth of VACAPAF. Miss Black & Gold Pageant The Miss Black and Gold Pageant is an event whose primary purpose is to highlight and foster the inextricable connection between success and etiquette amongst young women. This pageant spotlights the young women's poise, self-confidence, communication skills, intelligence, and beauty. In all, the Miss Black and Gold Pageant encompasses true womanhood, success, and confidence. Academic excellence and scholarship are greatly stressed in the competition with the Fraternity providing the contestants with scholarships to assist with the financial obligations associated with post-secondary studies. This competition highlights Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity college chapters in the art of stepping and creativity by allowing each team to showcase its individual style and talents. College Brothers Luncheon This luncheon is facilitated solely by College Brothers and their leadership team. During the College Brothers Luncheon, the Brothers associated with the College Chapters will compete in the Collegiate Scholars Bowl and Belford V. Lawson Oratorical Competitions. This is a perfect opportunity to gain access to the Brothers that are at different levels in their collegiate careers from throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
