Firms and Institutions (including agencies and other organisations) 1 TRANSACTIONS (PROJECTS, ACQUISITIONS AND FINANCINGS) RATIONALE: Submissions should demonstrate that the deal in question involved genuine innovation and moved the market forward. They should include as much information as possible about the circumstances and unique features of each project. REQUIRED INFORMATION: Please provide the following information for transactions to allow IJGlobal and its judges to make the most considered judgements possible you must enter the required information via the online submission form. IJGlobal will recognise excellence in projects and transactions in each sector and region, and its editorial staff, in consultation with the market, will pick the winning transactions. Submissions open on 11th September. Until then, please register your interest at the regional awards sites. Technical/environmental/insurance advisers and contact details PLEASE NOTE: In some instances, IJGlobal will recognise subsectors separately (for instance, wind and solar in renewables, roads and rail in transport). Institutions should avoid submitting a transaction in more than one combination of region and sector/ subsector, on submitting multiple transactions for the same combination of region and sector/ subsector. 4
IJGlobal AWARDS 2014 2 FIRMS AND INSTITUTIONS (INCLUDING AGENCIES AND OTHER OGANISATIONS) Institutional Investor: Insurance company, pension fund, sovereign wealth fund, family office, endowment or other provider of debt or equity capital for energy or infrastructure assets. Winning institutions will be primary debt or equity providers, rather than working through managers. Fund: Specialised funds focused on energy and/or infrastructure assets. Rewards their success in raising and deploying capital in a cost-effective fashion. Law Firm: Legal advisers to developers, lenders, investors and governments. Technical Adviser: Providers of insurance, market consulting, engineering, revenue studies and other due diligence and advisory services. IJGlobal will recognise outstanding performance by awarding market-leading public and private sector players in their region. We will convene a judging panel made up of selected industry figures in each region, who will judge submissions and pick the winning firms and institutions. IJGLOBAL WILL RECOGNISE THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES/ ORGANISATIONS/INSTITUTIONS: Awarding Authority: The government body that awards, or advises awarding authorities on the procurement of infrastructure projects. Sponsor: Any private company that develops and/or owns infrastructure assets. This category is primarily for strategic investors. Financial investors should submit under funds where possible. Bank: Any commercial, investment or development bank that underwrites long-term debt financing for an energy, infrastructure or resources asset, or is a long-term lender to such an asset. Any bank wishing to be recognised for its advisory capabilities should submit under financial adviser. Financial Adviser: Any bank, boutique or professional services firm that advises developers, funds, government or institutions on the procurement, acquisition or financing of energy or infrastructure assets. In-house advisory firms at sponsors/developers should submit under sponsors. REQUIRED INFORMATION: For each nomination, whether for your own firm, or a firm you have worked with, please provide the following information: 1. The name of the company, government or institution being nominated 2. A summary of that nominee s recent activity 3. A list of key transactions that the nominee has closed (or will close) in this calendar year 4. A rationale for the nomination 5. A key contact at that institution responsible for transactions Supporting evidence of client satisfaction will be particularly useful in allowing our judging panel to make a decision. Sheer financing volumes will not be enough to clinch an award. Nominees will need to demonstrate diversity in industry, geographical and product type, as well as consistent excellence in their field. IJGlobal judges will produce a shortlist of up to five firms before IJGlobal s Awards dinners. Winning firms and institutions will be announced on the night. IJGlobal is not obliged to award in every combination of region and category. The judges decisions are final. 5
