Ministry of Home Affairs Disaster Management Division National Emergency Response Centre (NERC) **** Situation report on Heavy Rain fall in Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha and Nagaland [As on 5 th September 2018 at 1800 Hrs.] As per information received from SEOCs Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha and Nagaland due to flood/heavy rainfall/landslide the following damages have been reported during current monsoon season: 1. Kerala: Till date i. Rainfall 1873.78 mm ii. No. of Districts affected 14 ( Kannur, Kollam, Kasaragod, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Palakad, Malappuram, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad) iii. Population effected 54,11,712 iv. Human lives lost 491 v. No. of missing 15 vi. No. of injured 140 During last 24 hours 04 (Alappuzha, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam) vii. Assistance provided by Government of India: i. NDRF At present 02 teams of NDRF consisting of 90 rescuers and 10 boats are From 9 th August, 2018 to 21 st August, 2018, NDRF has rescued 535 persons, evacuated 25225 persons, retrieved dead bodies 10, rescued livestock 119 and medical assistance provided to 5562 persons. ii. Air Force/Navy/ Army Air Force: 1x MI17 V, 1xIL76,; 2xAN32ferrying resources. Cumulative Air effort 1148 Sorties/1203 hrs carried out 3736 passengers,1418t load Airlifted. Army: 1x Engineering Task Force (ETFs), 12x medical Teams; 07xBoats, 2xALH,2xChetak. Navy: 20 teams(stand by); 26x Boats (Stand by). 5X Dornier; 4x Sea King, 3x ALH and 4x Chetak. Coast Guard: 19DTR ; 3x Dornier and 2xChetak. Till date 36,000 personnel rescued and provided medical Aid to 7000 persons. iii. Other Central Government /CAPFs 7 Companies of BSF, CISF, CRPF and RAF s; 10 Boats. Deployment of SDRF, Local, Police and other forces: Yes
