COURSE OBJECTIVES AND DESCRIPTION Dear Colleagues, It is a great pleasure to invite you to the International Endoscopy Workshop supported by ESGE organized for the third time in our country. The workshop is designated for gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, but also for fellows in training, GI assistants and nurses. The main purpose of the symposium is to demonstrate evidence- based approach to diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, new endoscopy techniques with an assessment of their clinical utility and costseffectiveness, new endoscopic accessories and discussion about new trends in gastrointestinal endoscopy. The program of the course includes a participation of leading European and Bulgarian specialists in gastrointestinal endoscopy. Four State-of-the-Art lectures will be presented every day allowing comprehensive didactic sessions on diagnostic and therapeutic issues. A satellite symposium for nurses will be focused on endoscopic hemostasis, patient sedation, endoscope disinfection and the role of an endoscopy nurse. General information According to its approved format BULENDO 2013 is an ESGE sponsored workshop on advanced endoscopy with live demonstrations. It is supported by the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) in collaboration with the European Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Nurses and Associates (ESGENA), the Bulgarian Society of Gastroenterologists (BSGE) and the Bulgarian Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (BASGO). DATE AND PLACE OF THE WORKSHOP The workshop will take place in the Military Medical Academy of Sofia, Bulgaria on May 10 th and 11 th 2013. The endoscopic manipulations will be performed in the Endoscopy unit of the Department of Gastroenterology and live demonstrations will be transmitted through live video conferencing to Hall Royal 2-3 of Hotel Sheraton. The nursing course will take place in Hall Rila of Hotel Sheraton on May 10 th and 11 th 2013 and in Endoscopy unit of Military Medical Academy of Sofia on May 12 th 2013 for hands-on training.
