How do I get started? Print the Creating Application Guide at https://egrants.gov.texas.gov/default.aspx from the UPDATES page Goto https://egrants.gov.texas.gov/default.aspx website and REGISTER your three authorizing officials Authorizing Official-Certifies, which submits the application, this will be your Executive Director, City Administrator or Mayor Financial Official-submits your Financial Status Reports (FSR) which is your request for reimbursement Project Director-responsible for the program, usually the grant writer May have a Grant Writer but after the application is Certified they will not be able to go back into the application.

Update SAM Date SAM System for Award Management (Profile/Grant Vendor) Applicants must certify that they are registered or registering, and will be issued a date to enter into the application. Website is given in the application for your Financial Official to go to and register to receive a current date. If you are registering for the first time, click the YES box stating you are actively seeking a valid SAM registration, and continue with the application. You MUST enter that date once received and before you submit your application. The SAM consolidates the capabilities of the CCR and Federal Registry.

NARRATIVE Sustainment: You will be asked in the application how many years you plan to ask for funding. CJAC will be recommending future years of funding for the project. Certifications and Civil Rights Liaison Certifications and Assurances click on the link and the Word document will open outside the website READ before you Certify because if you are audited you will have to show proof of all.

New TAC Guidelines The egrants may or may not be updated but you should be aware: Equipment is now defined as tangible personal property (including information technology systems) having a useful life of more than one year and a per unit acquisition cost which equals or exceeds the lesser of the capitalization level established by grantee for financial statement purposes of $5,000. Applications must complete the Procurement Questionnaire for purchases that exceed $150,000
DOCUMENTS All agencies must get a resolution signed by their governing body and upload it to the application BEFORE submitting/certifying it. UPLOAD feature is found under the SUMMARY tab
