Introduction Hello GLACURH, Letter My name is Rachael Switzer and I am a current Assistant Residence Hall Director at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I am excited to have the opportunity to be bidding for the Coordinating Officer for Recognition and Service for the Great Lakes Affiliate of NACURH. I have been very invested in the GLACURH region following my first conference experience at GLACURH 2013 at Michigan State University. I have been fortunate enough to learn from many institutions in the region and beyond and hope to be able to return the favor to many more students and schools during my time as CO for Recognition and Service. During my time at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point, Arkansas Tech University, and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, I have been afforded opportunities to grow and develop as a leader through a variety of student organization involvement and housing experiences. I reflect upon the opportunities these have provided me and the ways these will affect my ability to serve the region. Throughout my time in the region, I served as a Communications Coordinator for two and a half years while preparing and presenting many bids, legislative pieces, and supporting the writing of many more that were prepared from my home institutions. I anticipate being able to provide support to member schools with the knowledge and skills I gained from preparing and presenting many of these pieces. While the focus for this position could lie within the bidding timeline and production of these, it is also important to note that service is a large portion of this position, too. I have committed countless hours to community service, whether on my campus, within the surrounding community, in the United States, and internationally. Philanthropy is extremely important to the region and member institutions and I hope to continue creating opportunities for the betterment for our philanthropic organizations. I am excited to continue moving the region forward while serving as the Coordinating Officer for Recognition and Service. Thank you for considering my bid. Peace, Love, and Polar Bears, Rachael Switzer 2

Positional Goals 24 Hour Response Time In order for the region to be effective and efficient, it is imperative that as part of the RBD, I provide quick and efficient response times. Effective Bid/Award/Legislation Timelines It is important for schools that choose to bid/submit for awards/legislation to have knowledge of the timelines well in advance and a timeline that constitutionally supports allowing time for the institution to make changes that the RBD provides prior to finalization. Service Keeping I would like to keep track of previous and current philanthropic organizations GLACURH has previously provided service to, or is currently connected with. Information would include contact information, the organization s mission, projects completed to support the organization, and any other pertinent information. Teamwork In addition to being able to provide support to institutions with regards to bids and legislation, I would like to build a professional relationship with the CO for Marketing, in order to affirm that the GLACURH website will be updated along with the online Archive in a timely manner. Bid Guide and Positional Guides Along with the GLACURH Director and AD-NRHH I plan to be able to prepare efficient timelines for bids and legislation along with providing an updated bid guide prior to the GLACURH Regional Leadership Conference and updated positional guides prior to the GLACURH Regional Business Conference. 10
