Background/Profile of Applicant If applying as an individual, include your resume and/or summary of experience/qualifications If applying as an organization, provide: background/profile of your organization list of current executives and/or board of directors, including name, position/title and phone number Incorporation document SECTION C: PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND RESEARCH PLAN On a separate page, provide a complete and clear picture of your project. Attach supporting materials that will help assess the merits of your project. Your application must include the following information: Project description: - Clearly describe/define the end-product or project deliverable - If the research will result in a publication: Include a Table of Contents. Project objectives - why this project is being undertaken; how will it preserve, interpret Alberta s history/heritage - who will benefit from this project, what are the benefits If the project is part of a larger initiative, briefly describe the entire initiative and how this project fits in. Approach or strategy - Outline your research methodology, theoretical framework - Specific sources of primary and secondary information that will be consulted, e.g. archives, libraries, private collections, oral interviews, existing books Public access: how the end product(s) will be made accessible to the public or intended audience Resume or information on experience/qualifications of researcher(s) and other individuals involved in the project If the applicant is the researcher, this would be the same as background/profile of applicant (see above). Main activities and a time/task schedule: Indicate what will be done, who will do it and when it will be done Source of cash and in-kind donations - If there are other funding programs contributing, describe the type of expenses they will cover, or, in general, what portion of the project they are funding. This information relates to Sections D, E and F of this application. - Submit quotes/estimates of major expenses described in Section D of this application. Community support: Submit signed letters from individuals or organizations demonstrating broad community support for the proposed project. Provide additional project details, if applicable: Oral History: Indicate whether the oral recordings will be transcribed, annotated or indexed Building Survey: Describe how you are recording/documenting the results of the survey. Municipal Inventory / Management Plan: The approach to be used in selecting sites, evaluating significance / developing municipal heritage management processes Research projects by post-secondary Institution: Evidence of ethics approval, if applicable.

SECTION D: CASH EXPENSES Enter your information on this form or use as a template. Use additional or separate sheets, if necessary. Develop a detailed project budget. List anticipated cash expenses. These expenses must be directly related to the project for which funding is being requested. Expenses already incurred at the time of application are not eligible. See list of eligible and ineligible expense on Funding Guidelines. Attach supporting quote/estimates. When budgeting for travel expenses, use the current travel rate for the Government of Alberta: 50.5 cents per km and meal allowance as follows: breakfast - 9.20, lunch - 11.60, dinner 20.75. When budgeting for gifting to Elders and knowledge keepers for Indigenous heritage projects, use the standard Government of Alberta rates. Enter total cash expenses in section F line 1. SECTION E: DONATED LABOUR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT Enter your information on this form or use as a template. Use additional or separate sheets, if necessary. List the volunteer labour, services, materials and/or equipment that will be donated to the project and their estimated value. These must be directly related to the project for which funding is being requested. Those related to fundraising, administration, time spent preparing the grant application, planning or attending meetings, financial reporting and similar activities are not eligible. In-kind donations received before the application was submitted are not eligible. See list of eligible and ineligible items on Funding Guidelines. The current standard for volunteer time is 15/hour for unskilled labour and 30/hour for skilled labour, other donations at fair market value. Enter total in-kind donations in section F, line 2. SECTION G: DECLARATION STATEMENT If applying as an organization, a duly authorized representative having legal and/or signing authority for the organization must sign this form. The personal information collected in this application is required for the administration of the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation, Heritage Preservation Partnership Program. This information will be shared with Alberta Culture and Tourism which provides consultative and technical assistance to this program, and manages the grant information system within the ministry. The information will not be disclosed to any other third parties except as allowed by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or the applicant.
