Recognize the possibility that the etiology of a stroke may be a paradoxical mechanism and then order the correct testing to ascertain this. 2. Explain the relative benefits and risks of endovascular intervention in acute stroke 3. List the particular areas of attention needed for rehabilitation of a stroke patient 4. Order diagnostic testing and secondary prevention specific to strokes of each type 5. Describe the decision-making process appropriate to individual patients regarding surgery, endovascular, or medical therapy for asymptomatic aneurysms and carotid stenoses Target Audience This program is intended for neurologists, neurosurgeons, critical care physicians, emergency physicians, nurses and therapists who treat stroke patients.
