Market Steer / Heifer Weigh-in Mandatory for 2015 Wyandot County Jr. Fair Any Wyandot County Jr. Fair exhibitor planning to exhibit a market animal project at the 2015 Wyandot County Fair is required to have possession of the project animal by Monday, December 15, 2014. Exhibitors must pre-register their animal(s) for weigh in by Monday, December 15, 2014 by submitting the attached information form to the Wyandot County Senior Fair office. One registration form is required for EACH market animal. Exhibitors are required to weigh-in their market animal(s) at the mandatory weigh-in being held at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 20, 2014. Weigh-in is mandatory for all market animal entries. If an exhibitor intends to exhibit his market animal(s) at the Ohio State Fair, the new protocol includes the use of an electronic identification (EID) ear tag that has a unique 15-digit number and a DNA (hair) sample that will be submitted by the exhibitor by January 15, 2015- for all market beef animals that exhibitors plan to enter in the 2015 Ohio State Fair. An exhibitor must also complete a separate Ohio State Jr Fair entry form obtained online at www.ohiostatefair.com. The Wyandot County market beef classes are: 1) market steer 2) market heifer 3) dairy steers 4) two-year market steer 5) two-year market heifer The following are the rules applying to the two-year market beef classes: 1) The exhibitor must have had possession of the animal and exhibited that animal as a beef feeder project for the 2014 year in order to exhibit it as a 2-year market beef project. 2) Jr Fair Tags from 2014 (beef feeder) and 2015 must be in the animal s ears to be exhibited as a 2015, 2-year Market Beef project. The feeder tag must be in the right ear and the market beef tag in the left ear. Both tags must be present at fair weigh-in, Monday September 14, 2015 Registration forms are available from vocational agricultural instructors in the county schools, the Senior Fair Office as well at the OSU Extension Office. They must be completed and on file by Monday, December 15, 2014 to be able to weigh-in a market animal for the 2015 Wyandot County Jr. Fair. In the event of inclement weather, the makeup date is Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 8:00 am until 11:00 a.m. The weigh-in is conducted by the Jr. Fair Advisory Board.
