Canada Graduate Scholarships- Master s (CGS M) Value Minimum Average Where to apply? When and how to apply? When are awards announced? CGS M $17,500, non-renewable First-class * in each of the last two years of completed study (full-time equivalent) Up to 5 institutions where you would like to hold the award By 8:00 p.m. (ET) on December 1 through the Research Portal As of April 1 through the Research Portal * As determined by the host institution 5
In addition, you must: be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada intend to pursue a Master s program with a significant research component have completed between 0-12 months of studies in a Master s/doctoral program Possibility of holding a CGS M for the first year of a doctoral program if no previous Master s funding not have already held a CGS M 6

Canada Graduate Scholarships Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement (CGS-MSFSS) Candidates: Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada registered at an eligible Canadian institution have accepted or hold a CGS (Master s or Doctoral) or Vanier CGS (if eligible) must not have accepted a previous CGS-MSFSS Applications: submitted through the University, within their assigned quota Awards: recipients must hold an active CGS at start of award maximum value of $6,000 (covers travel, living and other non-research related costs) duration of 3 to 6 months start date must be after the application deadline and within one year of receiving notice of award 27
