INTENT TO ATTEND BAND CAMP & COMMITMENT PAYMENT Welcome to the Lake Mary High School Marching Band! Every summer we have a mandatory camp where we learn how to march, how to put together a half-time show, and memorize our music. It s an intense, but fun time where lifelong friendships are forged. The drill for the show is based on the number of clarinets, saxophones, trombones, etc. that sign up by Thursday, May 10 th. A student who registers on time but does not attend Band Camp can still participate in band but may not have a spot on the field for the half-time show. AGREEMENT FOR SCHOOL - OWNED UNIFORMS For Instrumentalists Only Band uniforms are quite expensive (in excess of $400.00 when purchased individually) and thus must serve us for a long period of time. This is only the second year for our uniforms to be used. The assistance of each student in the care of the uniform is necessary to extend the lifetime of the uniforms as much as possible. Uniforms are kept at school and distributed before each performance. Students are given instructions on proper wearing and care of each part of their uniform. The Band Fair Share covers regular cleaning of the uniforms and minor repairs. Students will be held responsible for damage due to carelessness or improper wearing/storing of the uniforms. Hat boxes are issued with the uniform hats and band bags are purchased separately. Students are given clear instructions as to what should and should not be kept in their hat boxes and band bags. Paying attention to instructions, meeting deadlines, taking care of responsibilities are an important part of your education and life, not just your band experience. Failure to follow any instructions pertaining to the uniform and/or failure to return the hat box and hat, clean, when requested, will be dealt with as a discipline matter and may also be tied to the students grade if an assignment has been made in connection with hat/hat box return. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This form must be signed and returned before a uniform will be issued.
