Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) is one of the largest and best known hospitals in the UK. The Trust comprises Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie Hospital, offering general and specialist care and women's and maternity care respectively. The Trust provides healthcare for people in the Cambridge area, in southeast England, and specialist services such as transplantation, treatment of rare cancers and neurological intensive care for a much wider area. MANDATORY APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: A registered general nurse from a four-year Diploma course. Must have a minimum of one year s recent (and preferably current) post qualification acute care experience, in the specialty being applied for. Some volunteer practice is acceptable, provided that the work was undertaken full-time and with the responsibilities of a staff nurse position or higher. Contractual employment is also acceptable, provided that it was full-time employment. You must be very clear in your resume about the nature of your employment status. Must be very professional in all aspects of work, with the patient always being the primary focus. Must have demonstrated good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills in English, including the ability to patiently, effectively and appropriately communicate in difficult patient circumstances. Must have demonstrated good decision making skills. Candidates for these vacancies should choose the UKVI Academic test, with the aim of achieving 7 in each of the required four categories. This is because for NMC registration, the minimum Academic IELTS test scores required are 7.0 in listening, 7.0 in reading, 7.0 in writing and 7.0 in speaking, whereas for UK Tier Two visa purposes, the UKVI Academic IELTS test is required (with a minimum score of 4.0 in each of the above four categories). Please also note that the required scores of 7.0 in each category can now be achieved over two sittings of either of the above individual tests, or by a combination of both tests. Page 4 of 8
The two tests must be taken within six months of each other and no single score must be below 6.5 in any of the categories across both tests. ON OFFER: A permanent, full-time contract position, subject to successful NMC registration and a successful probationary period. A Band 5 gross annual salary of 21,909-28,462, depending on experience. Salary paid during OSCE preparation will be 19,655, during which the time you will work as a temporary Band 3 Health Care Support Worker. Previous service will be considered in relation to setting your Band 5 starting salary and this will be determined by the Trust s recruitment team. Shift differential paid. An initial Contract of Employment of three years, to comply with UK immigration regulations. The initial UK visa cost of 428 paid directly by the Trust. The Trust will provide an airline ticket from Manila to London and a return ticket to Manila at the end of the three-year contract, or if the candidate is not successful in achieving NMC registration. The Trust will reimburse the 130 cost of one CBT test to candidates who are successfully deployed to Cambridge. The Trust will reimburse the 140 cost of the initial entry onto the NMC register to candidates who are successfully deployed to Cambridge. Page 5 of 8
The Trust will pay the 992 cost of the first OSCE. The Trust will provide the first month s accommodation on site, free, with a welcome pack including bedding and cutlery, plus free meals on the day of arrival and a cash advance of 500 paid to you on the day of your arrival, which will be paid back from your salary over a six-month s period. Access to the Trust s Deposit Loan Scheme, which offer s new employees the opportunity to borrow up to 3,000 to support their initial relocation off-site. No Placement Fee. The Trust will pay for the NHS Surcharge of 600 ( 200 per annum, for the first three-year Contract). Up to 27 days paid annual leave and public holiday days. Excellent OSCE support program, involving an experienced, dedicated team, with a highly successful pass rate.
