Hanesbrands' Scholarship The Program will award two non-renewable scholarships, one in the amount of $500 and the other in the amount of $250 to graduating Crosby Scholars seniors who actively participate in extracurricular activities exemplifying leadership and community service, and who can clearly express in an essay how a community service project or significant personal or family situation that they have been involved with has positively influenced them, their family, the community, and/or their school. have at least one parent or grandparent who currently is employed as a regular, fulltime employee at HBI and has been for at least one full year; have a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.0 or higher; actively participate in extracurricular activities exemplifying leadership and community service, including part-time employment, if applicable; and Value: $250 OR $500; non-renewable Application Procedure: Students may begin applying on February 26, 2018 and must submit a completed application through 2. Activities resume -- Current activities resume should be in chart form and should include hours of participation or service for each activity. Include community service involvement, as well as part-time employment. Use the resume in your Crosby portal as a guide. 3. Essay identifying a community service project or personal or family situation and explaining how it influenced, you, your family, community, and/or school. Essays should not exceed 500 words. 4. Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community leader, or employer Unless otherwise noted in a separate email sent to Ashly Wilson at awilson@crosbyscholars.org before the application deadline, you have waived your right to read this letter of recommendation. Provide your recommender s name and contact information and he/she will be sent an email containing a link to submit the letter online directly to your application. You may use the same recommender for each HBI scholarship. You only
need to make the request once and your other HBI scholarship applications will be prepopulated with the recommendation letter. 5. Parent's/Grandparent's Employment Verification: Do not apply if your parent or grandparent is not an employee of Hanesbrands. Each applicant must have a parent or grandparent who is employed as a regular, full-time employee at HBI, and has been for at least one full year. List your parent or grandparent s name and then upload this information to your application as the Parent's Employment Verification Letter. If the HBI employee is your grandparent, you will still upload this letter in the space provided for the Parent's Employment Verification Letter. Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee, and finalists may be asked to interview with the committee. Financial need may be factored into determining the recipient. Program staff will contact the candidates to request financial aid documents if this becomes necessary. The scholarship recipient will be announced first by Hanesbrands and then by the Crosby Scholars Program. Hanesbrands' Veteran Achievement Award The Program will award a non-renewable $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Crosby Scholar senior who will enroll in a two- or four-year college or university; be a child or grandchild of active duty, reserve, National Guard, or retired members of the United States military; cumulative weighted GPA of 2.5 or higher; actively participates in extracurricular activities exemplifying leadership and community service; clearly express in an essay how they demonstrate the spirit of honor, patriotism, and respect. have at least one parent or grandparent who currently is employed as a regular, full-time employee at HBI and has been for at least one full year; students must provide proof via a statement written on company letterhead and signed by the employee's manager or HR officer; be a child or grandchild of active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired members of the United States military; demonstrate academic achievement by holding a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.5 or higher; participate in extracurricular activities exemplifying leadership and community service, including part-time employment, if applicable; and Value

One scholarship will be awarded to a student who enrolls at a four-year college or university; three remaining scholarships will be awarded to students who enroll at a two-year college or university. have at least one parent or grandparent who currently is employed as a regular, full-time employee at HBI and has been for at least one full year; demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA; demonstrate academic achievement by holding a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.0 or higher; actively participate in extracurricular activities exemplifying leadership and community service including part-time employment, if applicable; and Value: $1000; non-renewable Application Procedure: Students may begin applying on February 26, 2018 and must submit a completed application through 2.
