SCOUT PARTICIPATION KIT STEPS TO PARTICIPATE * DONATIONS GUIDELINES - WHAT TO COLLECT DONATIONS BAG-EQUIVALENT CHART * DONATIONS STAMP SHEET DONATIONS LOCATIONS * FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies & Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania Team-up for the Give A Little Love Donation Drive & Community Service Project February 1 February 28, 2018 With the Goodwill Give A Little Love Donation Drive and Community Service Project, Girl Scouts are encouraged to collect gently used items for donation to Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies. Collected goods will be sold in our 10 Goodwill Retail Stores to benefit Goodwill s many programs and services to help individuals with barriers. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to earn a Goodwill patch recognizing your commitment to your community. The top two Girl Scouts who collect the most qualifying donation bags will be awarded a paid trip to Girl Scout Camp, courtesy of Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies! STEPS TO PARTICIPATE: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Confirm your participation in the Give A Little Love Donation Drive & Community Service Project with your troop leader as soon as possible. Review the Donations Guidelines What to Collect and the Donations Bag- Equivalent Chart that will determine patch qualification (5 donation bags minimum) and your eligibility for the top 2 Girls Scouts who collect the most donations to be awarded a paid trip to Girl Scout Camp! Print the Donations Stamp Sheet included in this packet and take it with you to be stamped each time you take donations to one of our 10 Goodwill Retail Stores/Donation Centers operated by Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies Collect Donations and Deliver them to your local Goodwill Retail Store/Donation Center by February 28, 2018. Don t forget to take your Donations Stamp Sheet. Give your completed Donations Stamp Sheet to your leader as soon as the drive is done to be counted toward your Goodwill patch and your eligibility for a paid trip to Girl Scouts camp courtesy of Goodwill!

DONATIONS GUIDELINES WHAT TO COLLECT Give A Little Love Donation Drive donated items must be in good, clean, sellable condition. We do not repair or wash items. Please refer to the lists below that display the items we can accept, and the items we cannot accept. Items We CAN Accept Clothing Curtains and drapes Bedspreads and blankets Purses Shoes Backpacks Dishes, cookware, glassware Housewares Jewelry Toys, games, dolls Antiques Sporting goods Pictures Books Small appliances (mixers, etc.) Radios, CD players Records, tapes, videos Electronics (with polarized plus) Musical instruments Items We CANNOT Accept Hazardous chemicals Torn, soiled, stained, or broken items TVs Furniture Food Large exercise equipment Pianos Major appliances Air conditioners Water heaters Building materials Auto parts and tires Cribs, playpens, strollers, high chairs Carseats Baby walkers Baby gates Swing sets Bean bag chairs Beauty shop equipment Hospital beds Medical equipment Electric razors Propane heaters Trash Firearms and ammunition Electrical items without polarized plug Safety helmets Anything on the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Recall List

How Patches Are Earned: DONATIONS BAG-EQUIVALENT CHART Each Girl Scout must collect a minimum of 5 bags (5 bag equivalents) to receive a Goodwill patch. Please refer to the Donations Bag-Equivalent Chart below for clarification The top 2 Girl Scouts who collect the most donations will be awarded a paid trip to Girl Scout Camp! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Do we have to drop off our donations all at one time? No, your Donation Stamp Sheet is good for multiple visits! But in order to get your Donations Stamp Sheet stamped, you must personally deliver the donations yourself or be present if someone is donating on your behalf. Your sheet will be used to determine credit toward your Goodwill patch and your eligibility to be awarded the paid trip to Girl Scouts Camp (top 2 collectors). Can I participate as an individual? Yes! Any Scout can participate with or without a troop. If your troop leader hasn t registered you, simply request your Registration Form from crusnak@gogoodwill.org. Can I drop off donations at different Goodwill locations? Yes, at any of the 10 Goodwill Retail Stores/Donation Centers locations operated by Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies (see Donations Locations page). Please be sure to get your Donations Stamp Sheet stamped by the Goodwill donation attendant at the time of donation. Are the donations tax deductible? Yes!
