Reflections November 2016 ADVERTISER APPRECIATION NIGHT Thursday - November 10, 2016 SPEAKER: Dr. Krishna Rajan Erich Bloch Chair & Empire Innovation Professor Department of Materials Design and Innovation TOPIC: THE NEW DEPARTMENT OF MATERIALS DESIGN AND INNOVATION at UB The University at Buffalo has established a Department of Materials Design and Innovation, as a joint collaboration between the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Come listen to Dr. Krishna Rajan, as he discusses visions, goals, and plans for the new department. Chapter Update ASM Buffalo s most recent tour of Buffalo Manufacturing Works on October 13 th sure did not disappoint! With a great turnout, Buffalo Manufacturing Works demonstrated some of their CT scan capability as well as their newest robot technologies. The group was also able to see a demonstration of additive manufacturing via electron beam powder bed fusion and also the amazing 3D printing technology of their student lab. Join us for our next event, Vendor Appreciation Night on November 10 th. We will showcase our generous vendors while hosting our speaker, Dr. Krishna Rajan, Chair of the newly established Department of Materials Design and Innovation at the University of Buffalo. Dr. Rajan will discuss his visions, goals, and plans for the newly created department. This event will be at the Holiday Inn Airport and will include dinner.
