Think Tank for China 2017 The SG TT4C/LA are part of the GLOBAL COLLABORATION APPROACH of the SGROUP The TT4C/LA are intended to be thematic network teams that operate as a consulting and activity shaping expert group within the SGroup. The TT4C/LA operate in close collaboration and with a TT4A(frica, to be established) will form the TT4 Global Engagement in 2018. 2

SGroup Summer-School for Intercultutal China Studies Venue: Shanghai Foreign Studies University (Hongkou Campus) Date: August 2018 for 3 weeks in total Capacity: approx. 35 students (BA/MA/PHD) Pre-Departure Webinars on Modern Chinese History (1800 today) The political and administrative system of the PRC Basic Chinese Geography (Climate, Resources, Industry, Population, Languages, Administration etc.) Morning: Language classes (beginners to HSK3) Afternoon: Workshop, Seminars and Excursions Cultural Themes (Foreignness, Family, Work, Politeness, Age, Eating, Conflict Resolution, Tolerance etc.) Economy/Business (e.g. EU-Chinese economic relationships ) International Relations ( EU-Chinese political and cultural relationships Chinese Law Target Group: SG member students who go on study abroad in the fall of 2018 Summer school serves as a prepatory phase to this exchange/study abroad/research stay

The ICON PROGRAMME - LA The InterContinental Academic Exchange Programme LA (ICOn) has been created as a result of long-lasting links between the SGroup Network and its members with Latin America. Its aim is to promote and facilitate collaboration between SGroup and LA partners through a short mobility scheme for academic and administrative staff. 16
The ICON PROGRAMME - LA Under the ICon Programme with a financial subvention from the SGroup Network, member universities can apply for a scholarship of 1000 to prepare a joint project/initiative with a partner Institution. Pilot-phase: 2017/2018 Target: Brazil Partners: FAUBAI members 17
The main objectives of the programme: Facilitate collaboration in research and education between EU and LAn HEIs Initiate joint projects Submit EUfunding or other relevant programmes Encourage true partnerships: co-tutelles joint/double degrees 18

Application and selection criteria Only one candidate per member university can apply for the programme in each academic year The application procedure is continuous until all scholarships available for a given academic year have been awarded 21

Requirements Candidates will be asked to: - Set realistic but relevant goals - Identify the impact at institutional level - Identify the activities multiplying effects and the benefits to the SGroup - Represent the excellence of the SGroup and its members 23
Demands Evaluate the mobility (self assessment) Describe the accomplishments, linking them to the objectives Report to the EC 24
The report and the results of the self assessment will be analyzed by the EC and the achievements will be shared at the LOM Ensuring maximum impact of the Programme The results will be reviewed by the EC on an annual basis with the aim of renewing the financial support for the Programme 25
