The Teal Hash Report contains Sexual Assault Related Courts-Martial Verdicts of Trial In an effort to ensure that the Sexual Assault revention and Response (SAR) information is disseminated to the CCoE and Ft Gordon personnel, the Teal Hash is published quarterly. The verdicts published in this Teal Hash focus on, but is not limited to, the Second Judicial Circuit (Southeast) and include Eglin AFB, Fort Benning, Fort Bragg, Fort Gordon, Fort Rucker, and Fort Stewart. JULY 2017 Fort Rucker, AL Jul 14 Name: SC Anthony J. earce Conviction: By a military panel composed of officers and enlisted members, contrary to his pleas, of two specifications of sexual assault in violation of Article 120, UCMJ Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, forfeit all pay and allowances, confined for 6 months, dishonorable discharge. Fort Jackson, SC Jul 27 Name: SFC ercy M. Gordon Conviction: By a military judge pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of wire fraud and one specification of service discrediting conduct, in violation of Article 134, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to E-1, to be confined for 1 year, and to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge. Fort Lee, VA Jul 6 Name: VT Tyheim Norman Conviction: By a military judge, pursuant to his pleas, of two specifications of assault consummated by battery in violation of Article 128, UCMJ. The accused was acquitted of two specifications of sexual assault in violation of Article 120, UCMJ. Sentence: Forfeit all pay and allowances, to be confined for 7 months, and to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge. As part of an offer to plead guilty, a pretrial agreement limited confinement to 6 months. Fort Campbell, KY Jul 12 Name: SGT Jose Morales Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to his pleas, of one specification of rape, one specification of sexual assault, and two specifications of abusive sexual contact in violation of Article 120, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, confined for 1 year, dishonorable discharge. Fort Hood, TX Jul 11 Name: SSG Rene G. Fuentes Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to his pleas, of one specification of attempted sexual assault of a child, two specifications of rape of a child, two specifications of sexual assault of a child, one specification of sexual abuse of a child, and one specification of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, in violation of Articles 80, 120b, and 128, UCMJ. The accused was acquitted of one specification of aggravated sexual contact with a child, one specification of sexual abuse of a child, and two specifications of battery upon a child under the age of 16, in violation of Articles 120, 120b, and 128, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, forfeit all pay and allowances, confined for 51 years, and dishonorable discharge. Wheeler Army Airfield, HI Jul 18 Name: CT Earnest E. Copeland Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to his pleas, of five specifications of false official statements in violation Article 107, UCMJ. Sentence: The military judged sentenced the accused to no punishment.

Baker Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to his pleas, one specification of sexual assault, three specifications of abusive sexual contact, and one specification of assault consummated by a battery in Violation of Articles 120 and 128, UCMJ. Sentence: Confined for 5 months and dishonorable discharge. Fort Benning, GA August 22 Name: VT Brianna. Ulbright Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to her pleas, of one specification of indecent visual recording in violation of Article 134, UCMJ. The accused was acquitted of one specification of dereliction of duty and one specification of failure to obey order, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, forfeit $1195.00 pay per month for 4 months, confined for 60 days Fort Benning, GA August 22 Name: SSG Samuel R. Beck Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to her pleas, of one specification of indecent visual recording in violation of Article 134, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, forfeit $1195.00 pay per month for 4 months, confined for 60 days Fort Hood, TX August 9 Name: SC Michael J. Gonzales Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to his pleas, of one specification of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, one specification of aggravated sexual contact with a child, one specification of child endangerment, and one specification of indecent liberty with a child, in violation of Articles 120 and 134, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, forfeit all pay and allowances, confined for 22 years, dishonorable discharge. Fort Hood, TX August 23 Name: FC Siveon D. Franklin Conviction: By a military judge, pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of assault consummated by a battery upon a child, in violation of Article 128, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, confined for 18 months, dishonorable discharge. Fort olk, LA August 29 Name: SC Lokahi M. Taeza Conviction: By a military judge, pursuant to pleas, two specifications of rape of a child, violation of Article 120b, UCMJ. Sentence: Confined for 17 years and dishonorable discharge. As part of an offer to plead guilty, a pretrial agreement limited confinement to 15 years. Kaiserslautern, Germany August 9 Name: SSG Darralyn S. Cody Conviction: By a military panel composed of officers and enlisted members, pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of cruelty and maltreatment, one specification of abusive sexual contact, and one specification of sexual assault, in violation of Articles 93 and 120, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, forfeit all pay and allowances, confined for 30 months, dishonorable discharge.

SETEMBER 2017 Fort Gordon, GA September 11 Name: VT Darel McDonald Conviction: By a military judge, pursuant to his plea, of one specification of larceny in violation of Article 121, UCMJ. The accused was acquitted of two specifications of failure to obey a lawful order, one specification of rape, three specifications of sexual assault, two specifications of abusive sexual contact, and one specification of wrongful detention, in violation of Articles 92, 120, and 134, UCMJ. Sentence: Confined for 45 days Fort Jackson, SC September 26 Name: CT Leopold K. Odah Conviction: By a military judge, pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of violation of a lawful general order, one specification of maltreatment of a subordinate, and three specifications of assault consummated by a battery, in violation of Articles 92, 93, and 128 UCMJ. The accused was convicted by a military judge, contrary to his plea, of one specification of violating a lawful general order, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ. The accused was acquitted of one specification of violation of a lawful general order, one specification of maltreatment of a subordinate, and one specification of abusive sexual contact, in violation of Articles 91, 93, and 120, UCMJ. Sentence: Dismissed from Service Wheeler Army Airfield, HI September 20 Name: SC Jonathan Ortega Conviction: By a military judge, contrary to his pleas, of three specifications of rape of a child and one specification of sexual abuse of a child, in violation of Article 120b, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, confined for 25 years and a dishonorable discharge. Fort Rucker, AL September 22 Name: SSG Michael J. Guinn Conviction: By a military panel composed of officers and enlisted members, contrary to his pleas, of one specification of sexual abuse of a child, in violation of Article 120b, UCMJ. Sentence: Reduced to the grade of E-1, confined for 4 years, and a dishonorable discharge. Fort Carson, CO September 11 Name: SSG Irvin V. Moore, Jr. Conviction: By a military judge, pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of maltreatment of a subordinate, one specification of sexual assault, and one specification of indecent language, in violation of Articles 93, 120, and 134, UCMJ. Out of every 1,000 sexual assaults, 310 are reported to the police. Members of the military: 43% of female victims and 10% of male victims reported
