CL099-CL100 Historical Note: The Norman Thomas Institute for Peace And Social Studies is a politically leftist organization with close ties to the Socialist Party, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Scope and Content: The collection contains material collected for the institute s Alternative Community Calendar, a Dial-a recorded message service started in December 1984. The organizations represented are left, labor, feminist, environmentalist, and peace movements based mainly in Milwaukee. This collection consists almost entirely of fliers, news releases and promotional material gathered by the institute. Administrative Note: The collection was processed on December 16, 2000 by Stephanie Ferguson. The collection had items added on Oct. 31, 2002 and Dec. 4, 2003. The material was processed by Kevin Abing.
