THE STEPHEN PHILLIPS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND This scholarship offers renewable, 4 year scholarships to students from New England with financial need who displays academic excellence, a desire to help others, good character, and a strong work ethic. The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund awarded about $1.8 million to Massachusetts students for the 2015-2016 school year. 100 new recipients from Massachusetts received $562,00 in awards 222 renewing students received $1.3 million in awards The criteria includes : Academic excellence and aptitude -GPA of 3.0 or higher, be enrolled in a demanding course of study, demonstrate skilled writing ability, citizenship, character and serious-mindedness- demonstrate a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society both present and future, be involved in a balance of community and school activities, earn money for college thru part time work, pursue goals and aspirations w/ integrity, resolution, self-discipline and judgment and financial need. ** Deadline: April 10, 2016 ST. Shawsheen Valley Technical High School Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship Given to an outstanding high school graduate who demonstrates commitment to his/her community as well as academic achievement. Recipient is a child of a SVTHS graduate, but does not necessarily need to be a SVTHS graduate themselves. FMC Ice Sports Skaters The FMC Skaters Scholarship program was developed in 1993 to provide financial assistance to ice sports participants and recreational ice skaters that demonstrate personal excellence on and off- the ice.
