The monsoon in India has caused devastating flooding in the area of India that Father Dan Johnson is serving. In his small parish, over 30 families completely lost their homes. Many others are in need of basic assistance for food and clothing, as well as major reconstruction of their homes. This was the most catastrophic flood in the State of Kerela in India over the past 125 years. Father Johnson reported that 600 lives were lost and a million animals were killed. He, and about 20 others who sought refuge with him, were stranded without water or electricity for over a week and had only bananas/fruit to eat. Funds are being collected that will go directly to Father Johnson so he can get the help where it is needed most. He is prayerfully asking for our help. If you are able to help financially, please make your donation to St John's Catholic Church, and put in the memo area of the check Fr Johnson- Flood Victim Relief. The donation can go into the collection basket at church. Funds will be collected over the next 4 weeks, but we are trying to get them to Fr Johnson as they come in so he can help alleviate their suffering as soon as possible. Thank you for your generosity. Please continue to pray for him and his parish.
