Primary Goal/Purpose of the IHS Sharks Booster Club To provide support for the Islands High School student-athletes and coaches through promoting school spirit, volunteering and fundraising.

2016-17 Membership Levels Basic Membership $15.00 Fin Fan + One $50.00 Includes pass gate admission for card holder plus one additional person to any regular season event held on the Islands High School campus, one complimentary student ticket for the Homecoming Dance, 10% clothing items at the Surf Shop, discounts/perks from local businesses each month. Fin Fan + Two $75.00 Includes pass gate admission for card holder plus one additional person to any regular season event held on the Islands High School campus, one complimentary student ticket for the Homecoming Dance, 10% clothing items at the Surf Shop, discounts/perks from local businesses each month.

So, what does Booster Club typically pay for? Refreshments (cake and bottled water) for Sports Awards Programs three times per year ($300-$450 x 3) Refreshments (cake and bottled water) for College signing receptions ($75-$125) Flowers for Senior Parent Nights if requested (varies) Paper products/cleaning supplies for concession stand (varies) Popcorn and oil for concession stand (varies) Homecoming Dance Entertainment, Decorations, etc. not covered by ticket cost

Resources and Supplies needed to support overall IHS Athletics 1) Outdoor storage building for lawnmowers, field equipment, golf cart, etc. ($2,500-$3,500) 2) Golf cart with flat bed or Gator to transport equipment and supplies to fields (possible donation from course or up to $4,000) 3) Shark Mascot costume ($1,500)

Financials/Accounting Procedures for Each Team/Sport FUNDRAISING REMINDERS: All team fundraisers must be approved in advance by the Principal so that a comprehensive calendar can be maintained. Coaches have a request form to complete and submit. Although input from athletes and parents may be requested, the head coach is ultimately the decision maker with regards to how money will be spent and the athletic director and assistant principal for athletics must give final approval.

Reminder: Due to school nutrition guidelines, food items may not be sold during the school day. If the fundraiser will take place at a business or other venue, please attach a copy of the written agreement that details the commitment of the business and any obligations that the IHS Booster Club must meet. Financials/Accounting Procedures for Each Team/Sport Each team has a ledger within the Sharks Booster Club account for maintaining records of income and expenses. Beginning in October, each coach will receive a statement that outlines current account balance, income and expenditures. The coach can share this information with the team parent.

Financials/Accounting Procedures for Each Team/Sport Once an expenditure has been approved, the coach will submit a check request to the Islands Sharks Athletics Booster Club treasurer. Checks will be prepared and delivered one day per week. Coaches must plan in advance to request check. Checks WILL NOT be written from a team s account if funds are not available to cover the amount.

Homecoming Week October 17-22 Monday- Themed Dress Down Day Tuesday- Themed Dress Down Day Wednesday- PSAT Testing Thursday- JV Football Game 4:30pm Homecoming Fair and Bonfire 6:00-9:00pm Friday- Homecoming Pep Rally 1:10-2:25pm FB Game vs. Windsor Forest HS 7:30pm Saturday- Homecoming Dance 7:30-10:00pm $5.00

Varsity Letter Jackets A representative from Neff will be at Islands High School on Wednesday, October 26 th from 5:00-6:30pm to take measurements and orders for Varsity Letter Jackets. All payments will be made directly to Neff and jackets will be delivered to the school and given directly to parents by Neff Rep

Varsity Letter Jackets How does a student-athlete earn a VARSITY LETTER? Student-athletes must COMPLETE the season and participate in scheduled practices, games and events unless they have an excused absence.

REMINDERS FROM SPORTSMANSHIP CONTRACT Expectations of Coaches: To treat each player, parent, opponent, and official with respect. To demonstrate by example and be a role model for their players. To abide by all Georgia High School Association(GHSA) rules and regulations for their sport. To monitor the student athlete s academic progress and behavior insuring it is at an acceptable level. To notify players and parents with updated times of all practices, matches, or games.

REMINDERS FROM SPORTSMANSHIP CONTRACT Expectations of Student Athletes: To treat their teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials with respect. To be a role model that best represents Islands High School. To place the good of the team above individual goals and recognition. To win with dignity, lose without excuses. To treat all faculty and staff of Islands High School with the utmost respect

REMINDERS FROM SPORTSMANSHIP CONTRACT Expectations of Parents: To be supportive of the school and the team. To be a positive influence at both practice and games. To be respectful toward the officials, opponents, and their families. To notify the coach of any illness or injury as soon as possible. To express any concerns directly to the coach. To allow 24 hours for a response when contacting a coach. Coaches have many responsibilities and obligations (personal and professional) which may not allow for an immediate response.
