Page 2 President s Ponderings I must first start by saying, how honored I am to be the new President for the coming year. The Board of Directors that represent the Chamber are an amazing group of people. We are all excited to be helping the Chamber grow and become an integral part of each member's business. We are in the midst of adding new workshops, events and networking opportunities to support our membership. We appreciate everyone's patience with rescheduling the Road Rally. This is one of the most fun events we have. We have rescheduled the event for Saturday, August 17, 2013. We look forward to seeing you there. Thank you to our sponsors and donators, thus far. There is still time to purchase tickets, and or be a sponsor or donator. Contact the Chamber office for tickets or if you would like to be a sponsor. The Strawberry Festival is June 14-16. We will have a booth there, so stop by and say HI. Just one housekeeping item, the nomination forms for our Chamber awards can be found on the Chamber website and in the Chamber office. It is always a great event to come out and enjoy the sunshine along with meeting other members. If you have not received your registration form, please contact the Chamber office. Sponsorship opportunities are filling up fast, so don't delay. Proceeds of this event will be used for Chamber building updates and improvements.

Page 8 Nominations Now Being Accepted The Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the following awards: Leona Van Buhler Chamber Member of the Year Award Ted Kuckelman Community Service Award Business of the Year The criteria to be eligible for these awards are the following: Leona VanBuhler Award Current Chamber member of at least 3 years Member can be Owner, Manager or Employee Recommended by Chamber Member only Nominee should have a dedication of self to business and exemplify business support of the community Ted Kuckelman Award Must be at least 18 years old Has been a participant in the Belleville Area Community or at least the last 6 months (preferably the recipient should have made a long term contribution to the community) Nominee is providing a service for the Belleville Area Community Have a letter of recommendation from at least one chamber member listing reasons for consideration Business of the Year Nominees for this award will exemplify the best in what people expect from a small town business, as well, as placing an emphasis on customer service, quality produce and beautification of their building and/or goods.
