About This DVD Series This CME accredited DVD series is structured as a practical, clinically oriented discussion of risk reduction in obstetrics and efforts to improve patient safety. A series of lectures address the origin of errors, an evidence-based approach for management of emergencies on labor and delivery, quality assurance programs, using a systematic approach for prevention of errors, and other pertinent topics affecting clinical practices. Tips, protocols, pitfalls and case presentations provide balance to the program. Subscribers are provided with necessary tools to help establish a patient safety program such as management protocols, checklists and near-miss/data collection processes. The faculty has been selected for their teaching ability, as well as for their national expertise in this field. Target Audience This course should benefit physicians and nurses involved in caring for pregnant women. It should also be valuable for those involved in women s health such as nurse managers, perinatal nurse specialists, quality assurance personnel and hospital administrators.
