2017 JCI HONG KONG SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALSREPORT Message from the National President of JCI Hong Kong Dear -activists and JCI members, Next Stage: Be Goal Keepers Since the launching of campaign in JCI Hong Kong in 2016, right after world leaders gathered at the United Nations to pledge their commitment to another 15 years of comprehensively addressing global challenges, we have been gathering in Hong Kong hundreds of local determined leaders and givers, to share ideas and take action to help achieve the Global Goals targets by 2030. Ensuring the community is explicitly included in the and impact is well measured, another crucial step has been initiated in 2017 in JCI Hong Kong, to continuously educate our members and partners what are and collect important data of our work in the projects of 21 affiliated local chapters. In this report, JCI Hong Kong members effort to "Be the Goal Keeper" is fully demonstrated through sustainable project and the focus on collecting important data for the future measurement of the impact. We wish to collaborate with different Goal Keepers and determined individuals to make the good things spread faster and wider. Under the two pages of facts about Hong Kong, we try to find out the root of the problem in Hong Kong and continue to focus on the work to alleviate poverty, for the fact that the number of impoverished Hongkongers surged to 1.34 million, reaching a six-year high record. We also continue to conduct the survey to keep track on the progress of activists after their work done in 2016. We live in a world of human suffering, environmental destruction, violence, and inequality. In helping to heal all the wounds, we, as active citizen and caring beings, have something to give, be it time, money, wisdom, love and many other things. We believe giving is a beautiful experience and will add more meaning to our life and help build a better world. With 533 local projects and over 6 million target audiences and 1190 partners engaged, I want to dedicate our achievement in 2017 to all those who give of time, of wisdom, of wealth and of love. Best Work of Life, Teresa Poon National President JCI Hong Kong 1
