Plumber s Continuing Education The participants will be able to analyze and interpret any change added to the current 2012 UPC Plumbing Code including Washington State Amendments. This course provides a complete synopsis of major code changes and furnishes the participants with an overview of what is new in the latest plumbing code requirements. This class provides 12 hours of Code Update credits (8-hrs Code & 4-hrs IRP) with the State of Washington Plumber Continuing Education. With the abundance of changes that have occurred between the 2009 and 2012 code, purchasing the 2012 UPC book is highly recommended. Medical Gas Installer s Exam Course This 3 day course is designed to provide individuals with all the changes associated with 2012 NFPA Medical Gas Code. This course will prepare participants for the installer recertification exam. As of 2013, NITC requires all Med Gas installers to retest in order to renew that portion of their card. Trimble We will be offering a Trimble class at the Southwest Washington Pipe Trades Training Center, in Lacey. Trimble is the Global Positioning Systems being used on most of the commercial jobs to perform the building layout. The class is tentatively scheduled for March or April. The class is limited to 10 participants and sign ups must be completed by February 28, 2014. Orbital Welding Instructor: Dave McMichael Dates: March 1st, 8th, 15th, & 22nd Day: s Times: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM This 32 hour class will train individuals in the operation of an Arc 207 orbital welding machine. Beginning AutoCAD Instructor: Joshua Giffen Dates: January 11th, 18th, 25th & February 1st Day: s Time: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM This class will teach the fundamentals of AutoCAD. A basic understanding of Windows operating systems is highly recommended. Successful completion of this class will provide the opportunity to participate in more advanced classes in the future. Tube Bending Instructor: Kelsie Jacobson Dates: May 3rd Location: SWWPT Longview Day: Time: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM This class will explore the techniques of bending small diameter tubing. A Tube Bending book($18.00) and a Tube Layout- Packet ($7.50) must be purchased by each participant prior to this class. Pipefitting Fundamentals: Instructor: Jud Hildebrant Dates: February 17th, 19th, 24th & 26th Day: Mondays & Wednesdays Time: 6:00 PM 9:30 PM This class will provide an overview of basic pipefitting fundamentals. For example; pipefitting terminology, fitting configuration/design, joint fit-up procedures, basic trade mathematics, fittings, valves and materials used in pipefitting, pressure piping systems and boiler install, basic science, drawing interpretation and rigging. This class is recommended to prepare an individual for the Local 26 Steamfitter Exam. Shipbuilding Construction & Repair Fundamentals: Instructor: Dave McMichael Dates: March 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th, 25th, & 27th Day: Mondays & Wednesdays Time: 6:00 PM 9:30 PM This class will provide an overview of the shipbuilding construction and repair industry. For example, craft awareness, shipyard terminology, weld preparation, blue print reading, safety, rigging & scaffolding, hazardous materials, ship piping systems, system testing, heat exchangers, spool fabrication, system cleanliness, mechanical locking devices and many other subjects.
