Inpatient Therapy Team Update The inpatient therapy team are delighted to welcome the new therapy assistants - Christine Davies, Charlotte Hayers, Megan Sherwood and Alicia Mellett to the team. They will be working alongside the inpatient physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Following their induction the therapy assistants will support therapists in their role by teaching patients exercises, assisting patients with their mobility and supporting the occupational therapists with Joint School (which is due to start in January). They will mainly be based on Dufferin ward and they will be wearing white tunics with a light blue trim. We are very much looking forward to developing this role and hope Chris, Charlotte, Megan and Alicia enjoy their new role. If you have any questions about the therapy assistant role please feel free to ask any member of the inpatient therapy team. Nurse Revalidation RNs are welcome to attend Revalidation for RNs Presentation from 11.00-12.00 on Thursday 17 Dec. in the Seminar Room. Revalidation is mandatory for all RNs from April 2016. You are welcome to attend, to understand revalidation including Horder Healthcare recommendations and approach to the whole process Matron, Alan Stewart. Christmas Lunch Christmas lunch sittings are slightly longer to accommodate time to eat 3 courses: 1. 12.00-12.40 2. 12.40-13.20 3. 13.20-14.00 Christmas Closure A reminder that The Horder Centre will close at 12 noon on the 24 th December 2015 and will not re-open until 7am on the 4 th January 2016. There will be no lunches available on Thursday 24 th and limited lunches on Monday 4 th due to low food stocks. A static security guard will be on site during the closure period. Christmas Pay and Timesheets December pay will be paid on the 17 th December, two weeks earlier than usual. To enable payroll to process a five week month, timesheets for week ending the 17 th December and 24 th December will need to be handed in no later than Thursday 10 th December 9.30. Time sheets for week ending 10 th December to be in by 9.30 on the 11 th December. Staff will be required to enter predicted hours for week ending 17 th and week ending 24 th December; any hours not worked and entered on these timesheets must be worked or deducted when returning to work after the Christmas break. Nativity & Christmas Shopping On Friday 11th December at 10am, St John s Primary School nativity play will take place in the Old Dining Room. The play is one of the highlights of the year here at the Centre, so please make the parents and children welcome when they are passing through. They will be arriving in Reception from 9.30am. As in previous years any patients that would like to attend will be most welcome with staff/volunteers escorting them to the Old Dining Room where necessary. Staff from all departments are also invited to attend where possible. Following on from last year, the shopping morning with be held at the same time for staff, volunteers and visitors. A selection of stalls selling Christmas gifts will be set up in Reception and shopping will be available between from 9.30am - 2.00pm. Finance Update Payments to Suppliers We do a BACS payment every Thursday to all our Suppliers which means money is in their bank account by the following Monday (3 day Payment). Occasionally it has to be done on a Wednesday to make sure payment is received by the end of the month. All Suppliers are dealt with on 30 day payment terms. If the supplier requires payment in less than 30 days, it has to be pre authorised by Jamie Skocic. Staff Expenses Payments If this is your first expenses claim, you are required to complete a form called Staff Member Payments to enable us to pay your expenses. This form can be found on control under E for Expenses. Expenses are normally paid within 30 days, however we do endeavour to pay staff sooner than the 30 day terms where possible. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact your manager. Staff are required to complete an expense form electronically so our scanner can pick it up, unfortunately it does not pick up hand written documents. The expense form & supporting documentation must be sent to accounts@horder.co.uk. The accounts email address is monitored daily. Your expense form is then scanned by finance and sent to your manager within 2-3 days for authorisation. Once they have been authorised we can proceed with payment. Please contact your Manager if you have not received your expenses.
