This has given me a great opportunity to put what I've learned in the classroom into practice.

I come from Phoenix, AZ and I'm a senior studying Materials Science and Engineering. I'm fairly involved in research, which is conducted in the Fiber Optics building. In my research, I work on specialty fiber optics that are used in laser surgeries. As a result of my labors, last February I was able to go to San Francisco to present my research. I also spent this past summer at the University of Michigan doing a research internship in optics. Currently I am a part of the Society of Optics and Photonics as well as Material Advantage, have been a part of University Choir and have taken piano lessons for credit.
