General Information 20th Anniversary Edition of the Annual Innovations in Neuroscience November 1 2, 2018 Cleveland, OH Overview A spectacular educational forum designed to provide the most current information on a variety of topics in neuroscience. This educational activity is intended for nurses, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Learning Objectives After completing this activity, the participant will be able to do the following: Recognize common neurological symptoms in various neurological diseases, and treatment options through lecture and case-based learning. Identify both standards of care and innovations, in the management of specific neurological diseases, symptoms and patient populations. Discuss consequences of neurological diseases, trauma and treatment challenges as it relates to quality of life issues. Develop improved management skills and proficiency of neurological critical care patients via lectures and hands-on workshop. Describe the role of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the recovery process of patients with neurological disease and neurological injury. Recognize work related stress and safety concerns and how to avoid burnout. WORKSHOP SPACES ARE LIMITED. The focus of these workshops is to provide hands-on opportunities and education for common procedures in neuroscience practice. Participants will learn and be able to practice intracranial pressure monitoring, external ventricular drain placement, central line placement, and basics of critical care ultrasound. Registration and Cancellation Preregistrations are accepted until 5:00 pm (EST), Monday October 29, 2018. Register onsite after this date. In case of cancellation, a full refund will be made if canceled by October 15, 2018. After October 15, 2018, a $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.
