Calendar of events CPD Study Days 20-21 March 2019 Our CPD Study Days are designed for busy doctors, to efficiently maintain competence and aid with revalidation in anaesthetic and surgical practice. 10 This event provides updates on new treatments and techniques, including top tips on improving your performance, from specialists in the clinical field. You will also have access to experts who will equip you with new skills to better cope with the demands of everyday working life. Cardiac Disease and Anaesthesia 3-4 April 2019 Patients with heart disease can present on any elective list, and also as emergencies. The aim of this two-day event is to explore areas of clinical importance for all practicing anaesthetists. 10 The event greatly benefits from presentations by expert cardiologists, anaesthetists and intensivists, who bring a truly multidisciplinary approach to complex problems and make it easier to better understand the pathophysiology of heart disease and how to manage patients with often intricate problems. The programme will explore a wide range of topics with plenty of opportunity to question the experts. Patient Safety in Perioperative Practice 31 January 2019 Patient safety is one of the most important aspects in your role as an anaesthetist. Throughout the day we will discuss patient safety across the perioperative pathway, including the barriers to delivering safe perioperative care, and strategies on how to overcome them. Topics covered include: technology to improve safety, airway safety - lessons learnt, what to do when you are involved in a patient safety incident and the future of patient safety.
