A student-athlete who only lectures or demonstrates may not be paid for his/her appearance at the camp. ** The student-athlete must perform duties that are of a general supervisory character in addition to any coaching or officiating assignments.

Non-Institutional and Private Camp or Clinic Coaches / Staff Employment Review Form Athletics Department staff may be employed in any capacity (e.g., counselor, guest lecturer, consultant) in a non-institutional, privately owned camp or clinic, provided the camp or clinic is operated in accordance with all restrictions applicable to Division I institutional camps and clinics. These restrictions include, but are not limited to the following: Camp or Clinic Restrictions (To Be Completed by the Camp Director Please check all that apply.) 1. The camp or clinic is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number and age). The camp or clinic may not select participants on an invitation-only basis or reserve spots for specific prospects. 2. 3. 4. 5. The camp or clinic does not employ (even on a voluntary basis) or give free or reduced admission privileges to any high school, preparatory school or two year college athletics award winners or USC recruits. The purpose of the camp / clinic is designed to improve overall skills through specialized instruction and is not a tryout camp devoted primarily to agility, flexibility, speed and strength tests. The camp or clinic does not permit or arrange for a prospect or student-athlete to operate a concession to sell items related to or associated with the camp. 6. There will be no recruitment activities (e.g., recruitment presentations, highlight videos, posters). 7. The cost of awards received from the camp or clinic are included in the admission fees charged to the participants of the camp. 8. A booster representing USC s athletics interests is not paying any prospect s expenses to attend the sports camp or clinic. 9. Coaches Clinic: High school prospects (individuals who have started 9 th grade) will not serve as demonstrators at the clinic. 10. Women s Volleyball Only: Camp may not take place during Quiet Period for women s volleyball. The student-athlete will be paid by company check (or an equivalent) for work actually performed and no more than the same rate paid to other employees performing similar work in this area; 2. Transportation, meals, and other benefits will not be provided to the student-athlete unless the same benefit is available to all employees; 3. Compensation paid to the student-athlete does not include any remuneration for value or utility that the student-athlete may have for the employer because of the publicity, reputation, fame or personal following that the student-athlete has obtained because of athletic ability; 4. The employer and the student-athlete will provide information regarding the student-athlete s job performance and compensation as required by the USC Office of Athletic Compliance. This could include providing written documentation of hours worked (e.g., time sheets), pay stubs, or any other documentation as requested by the Office of Athletic Compliance; 5. The student-athlete may not participate in required practice activities outside of the declared playing season. 6. The employer may not use the student-athlete s name or likeness to promote the company or its interests. 7. Immediately report to the Office of Athletic Compliance any improper privileges or benefits offered or received by the student-athlete. Camps/Clinics Employment Only 8. The student-athlete may not conduct his/her own camp or clinic. 9. The student-athlete may not receive compensation for their appearance at the camp/clinic if they only serve as a lecturer or demonstrator. 10. The student-athlete s name, picture and institutional affiliation will only be used in the camp/clinic counselor section in the camp/clinic brochure to identify the student-athlete as a staff member. Our signatures below affirm our agreement to abide by the conditions set forth above. We also understand our responsibility to comply with NCAA, Pac-12 Conference and institutional policies and legislation. We will contact the USC Office of Athletic Compliance if any of the above listed information changes during the current academic year.
