KENTUCKY HONEYDEW MELON Kentucky melons are one of the cool pleasures of summer! Using them in combination recipes creates a delicious treat for any meal with unique flavors. Pairing cantaloupe with honeydew is a natural way to add color as well. As with all fruit and melons, follow proper food safety practices when preparing fresh cantaloupe or honeydew. To reduce the potential risk of bacteria exposure, wash the surface of melons before cutting and dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Once the melon has been cut and seeds removed, store the cut melon in plastic zip sealed bags in the refrigerator. Combining melons with chicken and other fruits creates a new twist on a summer chicken salad favorite. Adding curry complements the melon flavors in an unusual way. Curried Chicken and Melon Salad is sure to become a family favorite.
